Scorching Splash. Whenever the Vam-pyre is hit by an attack that deals bludgeoning damage, embers erupt from its body. Each creature within 5 feet of the Vam-pyre automatically takes 5 (1d10) fire damage.
Vam-pyre Weakness. The vam-pyre has these weaknesses:
Forbiddance. The vampire can’t enter a residence without an invitation from an occupant.
Running Water. The vampire takes 20 Acid damage if it ends its turn in running water.
Punish the Fools. When a creature is foolish enough to strike the Vam-pyre with a wooden weapon (such as a wooden stake), the weapon bursts into flames. While on fire, all attacks with that weapon are made with disadvantage. Additionally, they take 2d6 fire damage at the start of each of their turns while holding the burning weapon. A creature can use an action to smother the flames, ending the effect.
Multiattack. The vam-pyre makes two Searing Claws attacks.
Searing Claws. Melee Attack Roll: +6. Hit: 8 (2d4 + 3) Slashing damage and 10 (2d6 + 3) Fire damage.
Ember Jaws. Melee Attack Roll: +6 to hit. Hit: 13 (2d10 + 3) fire damage. On a hit, the target must make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or gain one level of exhaustion as the Vam-pyre drains fat from its body, healing itself for an amount equal to the damage dealt.
Hexflame. Each creature within a 10-foot radius of the Vam-pyre must make a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the creature gains Vulnerability to Fire Damage until the end of the Vam-pyre’s next turn.
Description
When a vampire spawn is condemned to the flames, its soul may refuse to perish, binding itself to the very fire meant to destroy it. Fueled by the lingering curse of undeath, the blaze twists into a new form—a Vam-pyre. This being of cursed embers and charred wood takes on a humanoid shape, its body flickering between smoldering timber and living flame. It moves with an eerie grace, leaving behind a trail of glowing cinders as it seeks vengeance and new victims to feed its eternal hunger.
Unlike its former self, a Vam-pyre no longer craves blood but instead hungers for fat, which burns hotter and sustains its flames. This twisted nature has made Vam-pyres both feared and highly sought after among the wealthy elite, who exploit them as a grotesque means of effortless weight loss. However, allowing a Vam-pyre to feed without restraint is a fatal mistake—draining too much fat will turn a victim into little more than a husk, consumed from within by the creature’s insatiable fire.
