Photosynthesis: At the start of its turn while under sun light the Thorn Dragon regains 5 hit points, this regeneration is desabled if the Thorn Dragon has took fire or acid damage since its previous turn.
Vegetal Nature: The Thorn Dragon is considered both a plant and dragon on effects that require either creature type.
Tree Stride: The Thorn Dragon doesn´t suffer the penalties of dificult terrain consisting of vegetation, either magical or nonmagical.
Furthermore the Thorn Dragon doesn´t leave mundane tracks when moving in heavy vegetation.
False Apearence: While motionless the Thorn Dragon is undistinguishable from overgrown vegetation.
Ambush: The Thorn Dragon can make two Rooting Claws attack agaist a creature within its range before the first round of combat.
Multiattack: The Thorn Dragon can make three attacks with its attack action.
Thorned Tail: Melee Weapon Attack +11 to hit 15ft reach, one target, for 3d4+6 piercing damage, all creatures within 5ft of the target must succeed in a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw being hit by thorns on and taking half of the damage dealt by the attack on a failure.
Rooting Claws: Melee Weapon Attack +11 to hit, 5ft reach, one target for 1d4+6 piercing damage, a creature hit by two rooting claw attacks on the same must succeed in a DC 19 Strenght saving throw being restrained by roots that grow from the Thorn Dragon´s paws on a failure.
A creature restrained in this way can attempt to escape on its action by succeeding in a DC 19 Strenght saving throw.
Thorn Hail: Ranged Weapon Attack +11 to hit, 60ft range, all ceatures within 5ft of the target for 1d4+6 piercing damage
Polen Breath (Recharge 6): All creatures within a 60ft line of the Thorn Dragon must succeed in a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw taking 18d6 poison damage and becoming poisoned and blinded until the end of their next turn on a failure half as much damage on a success and no additional effect.
Polem Burst (3-Day): All creatures within 15ft centered on the Thorn Dragon must succeed in a DC 19 Constitution saving throw being blinded and poisoned until the end of their next turn on a failure.
The Thorn Dragon can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The Thorn Dragon regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Detect. The Thorn Dragon makes a Perception check.
Viscious Attack. The Thorn Dragon makes a melee attack agaisnt a creature within range.
Fast Stride: The Thorn Dragon moves up to half of its movement speed without provoking attacks of oportunity.
Lair and Lair Actions
Thorn Dragons often take residence in terrain covered with heavy vegetation, and specialy terrain they see as fit to hide on.
When a Thorn Dragon takes a local as a lair the already heavy vegetation growing on the land increases drasticly, the Thorn Dragon has minor control over this overgrown vegetation choosing to leave the land to its own will however it can still exact its will over the land in many ways.
The Thorn Dragon prefers to live alone only surrounded by vegetation and small creatures of the wilderness, as such no creature larger than a rat live in the lair of a Thorn Dragon.
Lair Actions
On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the Thorn Dragon takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the Thorn Dragon can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:
Poison Cloud: All creatures in a 10ft sphere area centered in a location within the lair of the Thorn Dragon´s choosing
Claws of the Trees: Up to five creatures within the Thorn Dragon lair that it can see must succeed in a DC 19 Dexterity or Strength saving throw
Overgrowth Regeneration: The Thorn Dragon touches the soil, it regains 6d6+6 hit points, (this effect is desabled if the Thorn Dragon took fire or acid damage since the end of its last turn).
Regional Effects
The region containing a lair of a legendary Thorn Dragon is warped by its magic, wich creates one or more of the following effects.
Insect Plagues: The insects within 1 mile of the dragon´s lair have their breeding rate and size increased, swarms of giant bugs are common.
Overgrowth: The vegetation within 1 mile of the dragon´s lair is wildly overgrown, it is considered dificult terrain.
Nature´s Sanctuary: Plants with extreme requirements for proper growth can easly grow within half a mile of the dragon´s lair.
