Amphibious. The aukal can breathe air and water.
Kiss. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1 necrotic damage. Once an aukal has dealt twice its hit points in damage it returns to its nest.
Lull. The aukal targets one creature she can see within 60 feet of her. If the target can hear the aukal, it must succeed on a DC 11 Wisdom saving throw against her song or gain 1 level of exhaustion. If a creature's saving throw is successful the creature is immune to this aukal's Lull for the next 24 hours. A creature who gains their sixth level of exhaustion from an auckal's Lull does not die, but falls catatonic, unable to be awoken by anything short of lesser restoration for 3d6 hours. Upon waking the creature retains 3 levels of exhaustion.
Call. The aukal targets one crature she can see within 120 feet of her. If the target can hear the aukal, it must succeed on a DC 11 Wisdom saving throw against her song or use its turn to advance closer to the aukal by any means possible regardless of danger. The saving throw may be repeated at the end of each of an effected creature's turns. Creatures immune to charm effects suffer no effects from Call. If a creature's saving throw is successful that creature is immune to this Aukal's Call for the next 24 hours.
Description
Aukal live on rocky shores along trade routes. Their migratory patterns make it difficult to predict where they are nesting, but once they have claimed a shore the fey are difficult to dislodge. Famous for the enchanting qualities of their songs, sailors who suddenly dive overboard are thought to have heard an aukal's call. Individually auckal's pose little threat as a single aukal rarely feeds sufficiently to kill a healthy adult. Sailors who sleep on deck may awaken with inky stains around their mouth or neck having slept through an aukal's kiss.
