Traits

Tunneler. The BlightBeast can burrow through solid rock at half its burrowing speed and leaves a 10-foot-diameter tunnel in its wake.

Actions

Multiattack. The Blightbeast makes one Bite attack and two Claw attacks.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) piercing damage plus 3 (1d6) poison damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) slashing damage.

Blight Breath (Recharge 5–6). The dragon exhales a blast of Blighted Spores in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in the cone must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 27 (6d8) poison damage, and it is poisoned. On a successful save, take half damage, and do not get poisoned.

Bonus Actions

Scorched Plague (Recharge 5-6); The BlightBeast summons 1d4 Scorched to its aid, and regains 4d8 Hit points.

Blighted Spores. The BlightBeast ejects Blighted Spores at a creature it can see within 15 feet of it. The target must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 minute. It can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Description

BlightBeasts are widely believed to be horribly mutated Bats, with plants and fungi growing out of their still living bodies. Typically BlightBeasts live in large underground caverns that they hollow out, and like to dwell near thermal vents. The Fungi adorned on their hides appear symbiotic in nature, as both the BlightBeast and the Fungi contribute to hunting activities. The Fungi may also be capable of reviving or hijacking the bodies of afflicted creatures, said creatures being referred to as Scorched.
