Traits

Cackle (Recharge 6). As a bonus action, the golem throws back its head and lets loose a loud, maddening laugh. Each creature within 20 feet of the golem that can see and hear it must make a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the creature takes 22 (5d8) psychic damage and it is paralyzed for 1 minute. On a success, the creature takes half as much damage and it isn't frightened. A target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Immutable Form. The golem is immune to any spell or effect that would alter its form.

Magic Resistance. The golem has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Magic Weapons. The golem's weapon attacks are magical.

Uncanny Resemblance. The golem resembles an undead creature. A creature that can see the golem can discern its true nature with a successful DC 15 Intelligence (Religion) check.

Actions

Multiattack. The bone golem makes two claw attacks.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (3d6 + 6) slashing damage and the target is grappled (escape DC 19). Until this grapple ends, the golem can’t use this claw against other targets.

Bone Prison. The golem places one Medium or smaller target it is grappling into its ribcage. While in its ribcage, the target is restrained and it has cover against attacks and other effects outside the golem, and it takes 20 (4d6 + 6) bludgeoning damage at the start of each of the golem's turns. The golem can have only one creature inside its bone prison at a time.

The creature inside the golem's bone prison takes half damage dealt to golem by all sources outside of the golem. If the golem takes 30 damage or more on a single turn from the creature inside its bone prison, the bone prison breaks and the creature escapes and falls prone in a space within 5 feet of the golem and the golem can no longer use its bone prison. A creature can also escape by pushing the bone prison open with a DC 20 Strength check or can attempt to wriggle free of the prison with a DC 25 Dexterity check. A success means the character falls prone in a space within 5 feet of the golem.

Description

Often mistaken as an undead creature, the bone golem is anything but. Like a flesh golem, the bone golem is assembled by attaching the bones and remains of various dead creature into one hodgepodge abomination. As a result of their grisly origins, bone golems are often constructed by necromancers, liches, and vampires, or any other creatures with strong stomachs and easy access to corpses.

Appearance. The bone golem is a rickety construction of various bones that have been magically and physically attached together despite how poorly they might all fit together. A bone golem is about 10 feet tall but weighs only 150 pounds.
