Traits

Adapted to Wildspace. Aucian doesn’t require air. Additionally, he can’t be magically put to sleep.

Among the Dead. If an hostile undead targets Aucian directly with an attack or a harmful spell, that creature must make a DC 19 Wisdom saving throw (an undead needn't make the save when it includes Aucian in an area effect, such as the explosion of fireball). On a failed save, the creature must choose a new target or forfeit targeting someone instead of Aucian, potentially wasting the attack or spell. On a successful save, the creature is immune to this effect for 24 hours. An undead is also immune to this effect for 24 hours if Aucian targets it with an attack or a harmful spell.

Embodiment of a True Hero (Mythic Trait; Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). If Aucian is reduced to 0 hit points, he refuses to die. Instead, he unleashes the limitless willpower inside of itself, as he ascends past his Abiding Form. Aucian’s hit point maximum increases to 270, and he regains 270 hit points. In addition, any hostile creature within 240 feet of Aucian that can see or hear him must succeed on a DC 21 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. Finally, once during each of his turns, Aucian can use his Skewer reaction, regardless of whether it has already used its reaction.

For 1 hour after using this trait, Acuian can use Mythic Actions as legendary actions. At the end of this hour, his maximum hit points decrease to 200 and his current hit points decrease to 200 if higher.

Hero’s Agility. Aucian’s reflexes and agility allow him to move with a burst of speed. When using the dash action, Aucian can quadruple his speed until the end of his turn. Aucian also has advantage on Dexterity saving throws.

Innate Spellcasting. Aucian’s innate spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 22). He can cast the following spells without needing material components:

At will: false life, jump (self only)

1/day each: fog cloud, forcecage, gust of wind, investiture of ice, wall of light

Magic Resistance. Aucian has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Second Wind (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). Aucian regains 22 (2d10 + 12) hit points as a bonus action.

Siege Monster. Aucian deals double damage to objects and structures.

Spear Master. Aucian's spear attacks are magical, have a reach of 10 feet and have a +6 bonus to attack and damage rolls and deal 10 radiant damage on a hit (included in the attack). Additionally, Aucian can use a d8 as the damage die, even if wielding a spear one-handed, and he scores a critical hit for a spear attack on a roll of 19 or 20.

Special Immunities. Aucian is immune to all enchantment spells, as well as effects that decrease his ability scores, effects that would cause madness, effects that decrease his maximum hit points, instant death effects, effects that would move him or teleport him against his will, effects that would alter his form, and the effects of antimagic, dead magic, and wild magic (which also include antimagic fields, dead magic fields, and wild magic fields).

True Hero. Against evil-aligned creatures and Murderhobos, Aucian deals quadruple damage.

Pact Magic. Aucian is a 14th level spellcaster. His spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 22, +14 to hit with spell attacks). Aucian knows the following warlock spells:

Cantrips (at will): frostbite (radiant damage), magic stone (radiant damage), spare the dying, thunderclap (radiant damage)

5th level (3 slots): blindness/deafness, contagion, counterspell, death ward, dimension door, expeditious retreat, hold monster, legend lore, protection from evil and good, silence, vampiric touch

Undying. No form of attack can suppress Aucian’s regeneration. It regenerates even if disintegrated or slain by a death effect. It can be banished or otherwise transported as a means to save a region, but the method to truly kill Aucian in his Abiding Form has yet to be discovered. Aucian regains 20 hit points at the start of each of its turns.

Undying Nature. Although he can sleep, eat, breathe, and drink if he so desires, Aucian doesn’t require air, food, drink, or sleep, and he doesn’t need to breathe.

Undying Will. All of Aucian’s attacks and all damage dealt by him are considered magical for the purpose of bypassing resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks. Additionally, Aucian is immune to the effects of Antimagic, Antimagic Fields, Dead Magic, Dead Magic Zones, Wild Magic, and Wild Magic Fields.

Unstoppable. Aucian adds his Wisdom modifier to initiative rolls, and it ignores difficult terrain. Magical effects can't reduce his speed or cause him to be restrained. He can spend 5 feet of movement to escape from nonmagical restraints or being grappled or restrained.

Actions

Multiattack. Aucian makes two attacks with its spear or four attacks with his Eldritch Spear.

Spear. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +17 to hit, reach 10 ft. and range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 24 (2d8 + 16) piercing damage plus 10 radiant damage. If used to make a ranged attack, the spear immediately returns to the Aucian’s hand after hitting or missing.

Eldritch Spear. Ranged Spell Attack: +14 to hit, range 300 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (2d10 + 10) force damage.

Starlight Step. Aucian teleports, along with anything he is wearing or carrying, to an unoccupied space he can see within 30 feet of him.

Reactions

Skewer. Aucian makes a spear attack against a creature that moves within its reach. On a hit, this attack deals an additional 2d8 piercing damage.

Legendary Actions

Aucian can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Aucian regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Attack. Aucian makes two attacks with his spear or uses his Starlight Step.

Defy Death. Aucian gains 18 (2d8 + 10) temporary hit points that last until the start of his next turn.

Indestructible Life (Costs 2 Actions). Aucian regains 45 (7d8 + 14) hit points. Additionally, if Aucian puts a severed body part back in place when he uses this Legendary Action, the part reattaches.

Shield of Determination (Costs 3 Actions). Aucian adds his Charisma modifier to his AC and saving throws until the start of his next turn.

Mythic Actions

If Aucian’s mythic trait is active, he can use the Mythic Actions below as legendary actions for 1 hour after using Embodiment of a True Hero.

Surge. Aucian casts one of its at-will spells or moves up to its full movement speed.

Unconquerable Hero (Costs 2 Actions). Aucian makes a spear or eldritch spear attack. On a hit, the spear deals an additional 42 (12d6) force damage, and if the target is a creature, then it must succeed on a DC 21 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone and be stunned until the end of its next turn.

Spear of Justice (Costs 3 Actions). Aucian throws a spear imbued with his determination at a point it can see. The spear explodes in a blast of sheer willpower, which encompasses a radius of a 40 foot sphere. Each creature of his choice within the sphere, centered on that point, must succeed on a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw or take 55 (10d10) force damage and be knocked prone. Structures, as well as nonmagical objects that are neither being worn or carried, take the maximum amount of force damage if they are in the spear (no save).

Shotlock - Ultima Spear (Costs 3 Actions, 1/Day). Aucian unleashes a catastrophic spear overflowing with determination, centered on a point that he can see. The spear detonates in a blast of raw determination, which encompasses an area of a 200-foot-radius sphere and deals 49 (14d6) magical fire damage and 49 (14d6) magical thunder damage. This ability has different effects depending on where a creature is located in the area of the blast, as shown below:

~10 feet. Each creature of Aucian’s choice within this range takes the maximum amount of damage from the blast and becomes blinded. A creature that is blinded in this way can only be removed of its condition with a greater restoration spell.

If a creature is brought down to 0 hit points by the blast, the creature and everything it is wearing and carrying, except magic items, are reduced to ash. A creature reduced to ash can be restored to life only by a true resurrection or wish spell.

Any nonmagical objects and structures are instantly destroyed and reduced to ash.

11-50 feet. Each creature of Aucian’s choice within this range must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes the damage of the blast and is blinded. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage and isn’t blinded. A creature blinded in this way can only be removed of its condition with a greater restoration spell.

Any nonmagical objects and structures are instantly destroyed and reduced to ash.

51-100 feet. Each creature of Aucian’s choice within this range must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes the damage of the spell and is blinded. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage and isn’t blinded.

A creature blinded in this way remains blinded until the end of its next short or long rest. It can also be removed of its condition with a lesser restoration spell.

Any nonmagical objects are reduced to ash, and structures are instantly destroyed and leave behind hollow husks.

101-200 feet. Each creature of Aucian’s choice within this range must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 21 (6d6) magical fire damage and 49 (14d6) magical thunder damage. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage.

A structure also makes this saving throw. If a structure is reduced to 0 hit points, it collapses and potentially damages nearby creatures. A creature within half the distance of a structure's height must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 17 (5d6) bludgeoning damage, is knocked prone, and is buried in the rubble, requiring a DC 22 Strength (Athletics) check as an action to escape. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and doesn't fall prone or become buried.

At the end of the blast, a mushroom cloud 400 feet tall emerges from its epicenter. Additionally, each creature and object in the blast’s area that isn’t buried or securely fastened must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the creature or object is hurled up to 30 feet away from the blast and lands prone, taking 1d6 bludgeoning damage for every 10 feet travelled.

Description

According to all known laws of magic and godhood, there is no way an elf locked in a mortal form should be able to harness determination. Deities can only gain power from others believing in them - and even plus, Aucian’s essence is locked away, meaning there’s no way he’d be able to use his own determination. Aucian, of course, has determination anyway. Because he doesn't care if deities or mortals say if something’s impossible.
