Traits

Keen Sight. The wendigo has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

Regeneration. The wendgio regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn. If the wendigo takes acid or fire damage, this trait doesn't function at the start of the wendigo's next turn. The wendigo dies only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate.

Actions

Multiattack. The wendigo makes two claw attacks and one bite attack. It can replace the Bite attack with the Tear attack.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: # (3d6 + 4) slashing damage.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: # (3d6 + 4) piercing damage. If the target is a humanoid, it must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or be cursed to turn into a Wendigo.

Tear. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: # (3d6 + 4) piercing damage. When the Wendigo uses this attack they consume a piece of a humanoid's flesh and regain 14 (4d6) hit points.

Description

The wendigo is a monster that is caused in one of two different ways. The first is an evil spirit possessing a humanoid which gradually transforms the humanoid into an emaciated, gangly figure with its skin pulled tightly over its bones and eyes sunken deep into its sockets. Once the humanoid is transformed, the wendigo seeks out humanoids to sate it's hunger by consuming them in it's home. The second method of a wendigo being formed is a humanoid consuming the flesh of another humanoid, after which they undergo a transformation similar to the first. Regardless of whichever method of transformation a humanoid goes, the wendigo is now on an eternal drive to consume humanoid flesh to end it's never-ending hunger, and to spread its curse. Wendigo's typically are found in forests, mountains and other cold-temperature areas.
