Swamp Wader. The bloated corpse is unaffected by difficult terrain caused by shallow water or mud.
Volatile Body. If the bloated corpse takes damage it must make a Constitution saving throw, the DC of which is equal to the damage taken. On a failed save, the bloated corpse erupts in a putrid explosion and dies. On a successful save, nothing happens.
If the bloated corpse explodes, all creatures within a 10 foot radius of the bloated corpse must make a DC 11 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, they take 12 (4d4) Poison damage and become Poisoned until the end of their next turn. On a successful save, they take half as much damage and are not Poisoned.
Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d6 + 1) Bludgeoning damage.
Description
When one travels through swamps at night they must bear in mind the dangers, one danger not consider much are bloated corpses, but that is only because most do not rise to drag travellers down into a shallow and murky grave. When a necromancer has no other option, or they simply choose to, they might raise the fetid and bloated corpses of those that have drowned in one way or another, giving rise to volatile corpses ready to burst and release their noxious death bile upon weary travellers.
Whilst they are useful for dealing with larger numbers, their extreme fragility makes them extremely poor servants, not to mention they smell and look even more revolting than a regular risen corpse.
