Description

The Diataur is like a Centaur in that… it has hooves. Oh, and opposable thumbs! But that's where the similarities end and the nightmare begins. Where Centaurs are defenders of the forest, Diataurs are a scourge of the Nine Hells, operating more like bandits than protectors. They share many traits with Nightmares—fiery equines who dance between the planes. With their innate flight, incredible speed, and ability to hurl balls of fire, escaping from them is only slightly less likely than escaping the hells.

Some contend that Diataurs are a unique species that happens to bear a striking resemblance to Centaurs, while others insist that they’re the result of Centaurs who have made a pact with the fiends. The creepy suggest carnal relations between a devil and a Nightmare and the dim believe a Diataur is a Cambion welded to a Nightmare. While this subject is hotly debated amongst the Diataur community, they do not take kindly to questions or insinuations from outsiders.

Diataurs typically hunt in small packs using ambush tactics. They operate intelligently, cutting off escape paths and switching between ranged attacks and their powerful charges depending on their enemy; however, their greed and bloodlust can lead to unnecessary risks or continuing to fight a losing battle.
