Dark Feast. A Wendigo can consume enough of a dead or unconscious Humanoid in 18 seconds (3 rounds) to fully heal itself.
Mimicry. The Wendigo can perfectly imitate any animal sound or humanoid voices it hears, as loudly as it wants. wendigo can emit a call for help or sounds of wild game to bait it's prey away from the group or settlement. If possible, wendigo tries to stalk a group to learn voices of it's members before luring them to their doom. Though, in desperation, wendigo can confront a group head-on. In such case it tries to stun as many enemies it can with it's roar, snatch most defenseless member of a group and retreat to a safer place to murder and devour it's victim.
A creature that hears the sounds can tell they are imitations with a successful DC 14 Wisdom (Insight) check.
Keen Hearing and Smell. The wendigo has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.
Natural Disturbance. A Wendigo can cause intrusive thoughts, hallucinations, or force creatures within 200 feet to look through it’s eyes at will, often viewing themselves or their group from a distance. If the creature can physically see the Wendigo, it can no longer influence them in this way.
Masks of the Wild. The wendigo can attempt to hide even when it is only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, or other natural phenomena.
Ambusher. In the first round of a combat, the wendigo has advantage on attack rolls against any creature it surprised.
Elusive. If a creature opportunity attacks the wendigo they have disadvantage on the attack made against it.
Regeneration. The wendigo regains 45 hit points at the start of its turn if it has at least 1 hit point. If the wendigo takes psychic damage , this trait doesn't function at the start of the wendigo's next turn.
Weapon of Legacy. The Wendigo will all ways have a legendary or artifact level weapon on it that it will actively use in "war" but will not use it when hunting or if it wants to eat its foe. (This maybe from base D&D such as a Vorpal Sword or a custom weapon made by the DM for the campaign or encounter.) The Bastard Blade of the Wendigo is the stand in for the chosen legacy weapon (if the weapon is strength based double the kinetic damage die the weapon does).
Multiattack: The wendigo makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws. It may choose to use a Legacy Weapon attack instead of a Claw attack.
(Bite) Devouring Flesh: Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) piercing damage, plus an additional 10 (3d6) force damage. The wendigo bites a chunk off its prey and swallows. It regains hit points equal to twice force damage dealt.
(Bite) Feed The Hunger: Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one grappled humanoid. Hit: 16 (2d10+5) piercing damage, plus an additional 9 (2d8) cold damage. The wendigo gains temporary hit points equal to the damage done. While the wendigo has temporary hit points, it cannot use this attack again.
Claw: Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (3d6 + 5) slashing damage.
(Legacy Weapon) Bastard Blade of the Wendigo: Melee Weapon Attack: +15 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 23 (4d8 + 5) or 33 (4d12 + 5) Slashing damage when wielded with both hands, plus an additional 21 (6d6) force damage. The Wielder of this blade is healed equal to the force damage done but gains an unending hunger for flesh that can not be satiated until the wielder commits cannibalism. Upon committing cannibalism for the first time the wielder gains the Dark Feast ability.
Riposte. When the Wendigo is hit with a melee attack, it can make a Claw attack against the creature that hit it.
Description
The Wendigo can be found stalking in the forests, plains, swamps, and mountain ranges of Y'ishkaa. Most commonly found on the continent of Dardnul, however, it's not unheard of to find them anywhere that cannibalism has happened. However the rare Wendigo Warrior is found near ancient battle fields.
The Wendigo is a large slender humanoid and is very tall (12 feet tall) and has large dagger like claws, sharp needle like teeth, and enormous stag antlers. The strange Wendigo Warrior is shorter at around 9 feet tall with shorter but thicker and stronger claws and teeth and Horns are thick and straight. Its skin although it appears tight and to the bone is almost rock like in nature and its bones pushing out against its skin giving it an emaciated look, and yet while most wendigo are naked or near nude the Wendigo warrior is bound in heavy armor often time still baring the symbols of its ancient allegiance. A wendigo's complexion the color of ash gray, that of death, and its eyes pushed back deep into their sockets and shine blood red in the moonlight and yellow during the day.
Vile Origin. According to the legends, a Wendigo is created whenever a humanoid resorts to cannibalism. After manifesting itself, Wendigos are cursed to wander the land, eternally seeking to fulfill their voracious appetite for humanoid flesh.
Soldier's Allegiance. The Wendigo Warrior was once a soldier or guard and possibly knight or adventurer. A (DC 16) history check can tell you what faction the wendigo serves and matching the symbol will lead to the wendigo trying to protect you as it attempts to continue it's service to it ancient home.
History. (DC 14) If trained, to know: It is historically associated with cannibalism, murder, insatiable greed, and the cultural taboos against such behaviors.
Divine Help. (DC 22) Religion check will reveal that the wendigo was created when a servant of Helm started becoming a wendigo and prayed to Helm for aid. Aid that helm granted. Turning the wendigo into a more lawful and loyal Creature. When a servant of helm calls for aid there is a d100 chance that Helm will send a Wendigo Warrior to aid them.
