Neverending Hunger. Whenever the wendigo consumes a Small or larger creature over the course of a minute, it regains 10 (1d10 + 5) Hit Points.

Wild Spirit. The wendigo leaves no tracks if it doesn't wish to, and it can't be tracked by non magical means.

Description

Withe body of a large emaciated humanoid, a skeletal fanged face reminding of a half rotting dear, sharp claws, and an intellect purely made of malevolence, the wendigo is a creature unholy on multiple levels. Wendigo can be born when a mortal endulges in gluttony to the point of performing canibalism on it's own kind, being cursed to feel an irresistible hunger it will never be able to quiet as a divine punishment, or they can be turned into one as a result of a powerful ritual performed by deranged druids, hags, or arcane-oriented spellcasters. Regardless, they embody the wild ferocity of an apex predator, eating everything it can find and kill.

Lair and Lair Actions

Regional Effects

The region surrounding the Wendigo is affected by it's strong cursed nature, which creates one or more of the following effects in a 10-miles radius around the creature :

  • The weather's natural cycle in a 10-mile radius centered on the Wendigo is disturbed, storms are more frequent and destructive, and snowfall and blizzards occur when they shouldn't.
  • Plants struggle to grow and yield half as much food, disrupting food production as well as the food chain, making predatory animals bolder and more desesperate.
  • Food spoils faster and more easily.

If the Wendigo dies and doesn't rejuvinate, theses regional effects then fade over the course of 1d6 days.
