Traits

Incorporeal Form (1/day). As a bonus action, the Aurora Sky Dragon may become incorporeal for 1 minute. While incorporeal, it can move through creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. It takes 5 (1d10) force damage if it ends its turn inside an object. While in this form, it gains resistance to all damage except force, and can only make its Radiant Breath attack.

Luminous Pulse. The dragon releases a pulse of vibrant aurora light in a 30-foot radius. Each creature of the dragon’s choice in that area must succeed on a DC 19 Charisma saving throw or be overwhelmed by awe, becoming stunned until the end of its next turn. Allies within the radius instead gain 10 temporary hit points and advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed until the end of their next turn.

Actions

Multiattack. The dragon makes two attacks: one with its claws and one with its tail.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target.Hit: 17 (2d10 + 6) slashing damage + 9 (2d8) radiant damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target.Hit: 15 (2d8 + 6) bludgeoning damage. The target must succeed on a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be pushed 10 feet and knocked prone.

Radiant Breath (Recharge 5–6). The dragon exhales a cone of aurora energy in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 19 Constitution saving throw, taking 54 (12d8) radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. Creatures that fail the save are also blinded until the end of their next turn.

Bonus Actions

Aurora Veil. As a bonus action, the dragon can vanish into shimmering motes of light. It becomes invisible until the start of its next turn or until it attacks or casts a spell. This ability does not require concentration and can be used at will.

Legendary Actions

The Aurora Sky Dragon can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action can be used at a time, and only at the end of another creature’s turn. It regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

  • Shimmer Step. The dragon teleports up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space it can see.
  • Glimmering Gaze (Costs 2 Actions). One creature the dragon can see within 60 feet must succeed on a DC 19 Wisdom saving throw or become charmed until the end of its next turn.
  • Phase Out (Costs 3 Actions). The dragon becomes incorporeal until the start of its next turn. While incorporeal in this way, it can move through solid objects and cannot be targeted by opportunity attacks.
