Traits

Resistances. See Living Shadow.

Legendary Resistance (4/Day). If the Titan fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Living Shadow. The Titan of Darkness has Resistance to damage that isn’t Force, Psychic, or Radiant.

Negative Energy Suffusion. Whenever a creature within 60 ft of her regains Hit Points from a spell, it subtracts 1d10 from the number of Hit Points regained.

Stifling Shadows. Within 100 ft of the her, effects that normally create Bright Light instead create Dim Light, and creatures there have Advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks. This effect can be suppressed by sunlight created by 5th or higher magical effects.

Actions

Multiattack. The Titan makes three Rend attacks.

Rend. Melee Attack Roll: +10, reach 10 ft. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) Slashing damage plus 3 (1d6) Necrotic damage.

Shadow Breath (Recharge 5–6). Dexterity Saving Throw: DC 17, each creature in a 60-foot Cone. Failure: 35 (10d6) Necrotic damage. Success: Half damage. Failure or Success: Any creature reduced to 0 Hit Points by this damage dies, and a Shadow rises from the corpse relative to the creature's size. The shadow is under the Titan’s control and shares the Titan’s Initiative count but acts immediately after the Titan.

Bonus Actions

Shadow Stealth. The Titan of Darkness merges with the darkness around herself to become invisible until she uses a legendary action other than Veil of Shadows or another action. This effect can be suppressed by sunlight created by 5th or higher magical effects.

Reactions

Shadow Step. The Titan can use her reaction to teleport up to 60 ft. and one creature of her choice that she can see within 20 feet of her takes 10 (3d6) Necrotic damage.

Legendary Actions

Legendary Action Uses: 4. Immediately after another creature’s turn, the Titan can expend a use to take one of the following actions. The Titan regains all expended uses at the start of each of her turns.

Pounce. The Titan moves up to half her Speed, and she makes one Rend attack.

Veil of Shadow. The Titan uses Shadow Stealth, and one creature of her choice that she can see within 20 feet of her takes 10 (3d6) Necrotic damage. The Titan can’t take this action again until the start of her next turn.

Description

Vel’Zharuun moves like a falling veil—graceful, slow, but inescapable. Her towering, feminine form is wrapped in shadows that shift like black silk caught in an eternal eclipse. Horn-like antlers of void twist from her head like the bones of a fallen star. Her wings are gossamer strands of darkness, torn by ancient winds, trailing stardust and sorrow.

Where she walks, candles extinguish, dreams dissolve, and names are forgotten. Even the brightest memories dim in her presence. The sky above her turns starless, and the earth beneath her cools to silence.

Her voice is not heard—it is remembered. A lullaby from a childhood you never had. A farewell from someone you never knew. Speaking to her feels like sinking into the last moment before sleep… or death.

Personality & Behavior:

  • Speaks rarely, and only when asked something profound or personal.

  • Appears in ruins, graveyards, eclipsed mountains, or places where light has failed.

  • Approaches the party only when their souls are heavy with burden.

  • Sees through all lies, but does not punish them. She merely waits for truth.

Motivation:
Vel’Zharuun seeks no kingdom, no conquest. She only asks that the world rest.

She believes the war of gods, titans, mortals, and monsters is a cycle born of noise—and the only mercy is to let it end. Her death will not be violent. It will be chosen. If she must fall, she will do so beautifully, her last breath a whisper that silences the sun for a month.
