False Appearance (Object Form Only). While the bankrumite remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary coin.
Treasure Sense. A Bankrumite possesses the ability to sense the presence of any piece of treasure of their horde within a 50-foot radius, regardless of its location. It instinctively knows the location of every item nearby.
Mischievous Nature. Bankrumites are inherently playful and prefer to avoid direct confrontation. When threatened, they resort to cleverness and deceit rather than aggression to safeguard their amassed treasures. The bankumite gains +1 to attack and damage rolls, as well as to their ability scores when on top of their treasure.
Reproductive Defense. If a Bankrumite is disturbed frequently, it has the ability to reproduce before its life cycle concludes. For every 10 pieces of treasure consumed, it may spawn one offspring, which appears in an unoccupied space within 30 feet of the original creature.
Treasure Pilfer. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2 (1d4) piercing damage. Creatures hit by this attack must succeed on a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw or lose 1d4 (1d4) pieces of treasure. The Bankrumite adds the stolen items to its hoard.
Shapechanger. As an action, a Bankrumite can magically transform into any coin, gem, or small treasure it has consumed. It reverts to its original form (which looks like a coin with tiny wings) upon defeat or can choose to do so as a bonus action.
