Traits

Parasite (SRP-74). Parasites will not attack beings controlled by the SRP-74 parasite, nor will they attack beings that serve SRP-74. Otherwise, it will attack the creature on sight.

COTH. Everything within the territory of a stage 3 beckon is inflicted with COTH.

Stage 3 Beckon. After being at stage 3 for a few days, and it is within Infect Lands that expand at least 1 mile in every direction, a stage 3 beckon will evolve into a Beckon Tree, which has its own page.

Stationary. Stage 3 beckons are fixed in place and can not be moved from their position.

Actions

COTH Effect. The COTH effect can only be inflicted onto organic matter. If a creature with COTH dies, they will become an assimilated creature, fighting for the SRP-74 parasite. COTH is a contagious effect and is spread when an inflicted creature harms another creature. It can also be spread through bodily fluids.

Spawn. The beckon releases 4-5 large gooey, lime-green pods, called biomass pods. After a couple of seconds, 1 Primitive Tier parasite bursts out of each biomass pod. There are several Primitive Tier parasites, and each has their own pages.

Anti-Air Spawn. The beckon releases 4-5 large gooey, lime-green pods, called biomass pods. After a couple of seconds, 1 flying carrier or 1 primitive yelloweye bursts out of each biomass pod.

Bombing. The beckon launches 4 seamine-shaped masses of red flesh, which explode after a few seconds. All creatures within 5 feet of the explosion, excluding those infected by SRP-74, are dealt 2d6 Necrotic/Poison damage. The explosion does not effect terrain.

Bonus Actions

The Ancient. When a stage 3 beckon is slain, there is a 25% chance for an Ancient Tier parasite to appear.

Adaption. When damaged, the stage 3 beckon slightly adapts to the damage type used, unless it is on fire or the damage type is Fire. Adaption is further explained in the Description.

Reactions

Panic Spawn. If a being that does not serve the SRP-74 parasite goes within 60 feet of a stage 3 beckon, the beckon will immediately use the action, Spawn. If the intruder is in the air, the beckon will use Anti-Air Spawn instead.

Description

SRP-74 Infection

SRP-74 is a parasitic infection from the modded dimension [MC_ScapeRunParasites_74], the 74th MC dimension to have this category of parasites.

Interdimensional Access. The SRP-74 parasite gained access to interdimensional travel when a careless dimension hopper teleported to [MC_ScapeRunParasites_74], linking the infected dimension to the dimension they came from, a dimension which happened to have several hundred portals to other dimensions.

SRP-74 World Portals. Albeit a very rare occurrence, SRP-74 World Portals are interdimensional portals that connect a completely assimilated dimension to a newly infected one.

Appearance

The picture provided is of a stage 3 beckon in the dimension [MC_ScapeRunParasites_74]. Do keep in mind, [MC_] dimensions are unusually blocky, and SRP-74 parasites have a much less blocky form in other dimensions.

Stage 3 beckons are 10-12 foot tall plant-like creatures. They have a sturdy base, with roots extending into the ground below them. On top of the base is 4 large symmetrical appendages. There is a small circle of bright green biomass at the bottom of each appendage, with a larger circle below the small circle, and an even larger circle below that one. On top of the base and between the appendages, is the Stem.

The Stem's base is thick and sturdy, it is has a 4 long symmetrical appendages, with green biomass on their inside. In between these appendages is the Stem, a much longer version of the beckon's sturdy base. On the top of the Stem is a 1-2 foot wide, solid biomass. The appearance of the entire Stem, with its appendages and the biomass on top, is very similar to the pollinating parts of the average flower.

Biomass Pods. Biomass pods are masses of bright green biomass. After a few seconds, biomass pods will hatch, releasing the parasite inside them.

Formation

Beckons have a chance to be formed when any SRP-74 parasite dies. The chance depends on how severe the world's parasitic infection is. Beckons are likelier to form from parasites that die on Parasitic Residue, which is left behind after Infected Lands are destroyed. The chance itself starts at 1 in a million, and increases differently in every dimension. DM may choose the chance of beckon formation.

ADAPTION

When damaged, the beckon will slightly adapt to the type of damage it took, unless the beckon is on fire or the damage type was Fire or Fire esc. If it is not fire/flaming, magma, lava, burning, molten metals, etcetera; it can be adapted to.

Semi-adaption = The stage 3 beckon has gained Resistance to the damage/ability. The damage/ability is half as effective against the beckon. After the parasite has 250 Adaption Points for a specific damage/ability, it becomes fully adapted to that damage/ability.

Full-adaption = The stage 3 beckon has gained immunity to the damage/ability. The beckon will take no damage from, and will not be effected by, the damage/ability. After the parasite has 500 Adaption Points for a specific damage/ability, it becomes fully adapted to that damage/ability.

Damage Adaption. 2 Adaption Points for each 1 point of damage the beckon takes from the damage type, ie. beckon takes 50 lightning/electric damage, it gains 100 Adaption Points towards lightning/electric damage. When the beckon is attacked and hit, it gains 10 Adaption Points towards the damage types it was attacked with, even if the attack dealt no damage. If the attack misses, and the beckon does not take damage nor gets inflicted with anything, it will not gain Adaption Points.

Ability Adaption. When an ability is used on a stage 3 beckon, it gains 20 Adaption Points towards that ability.

Some of the damages/abilities that can be adapted to are considered as one thing, so the various things that can be "adapted to" will be listed below.

Damages

  • Divine/holy and similar damages
  • Eldritch damages
  • Abyssal damages
  • Genuine Void magic
  • ZILE "magic" (Void Of Creation's replacement of magic)
  • Slashing damage
  • Bludgeoning damage
  • Piercing damage
  • Magical damage
  • Force/Kinetic/Gravitational damage (Includes telekinesis and similar abilities)
  • Lightning/Electric damages
  • Psychic damages and damage to Minds
  • Radiant damage
  • Thunder/Sound damage
  • Damage to Souls
  • Damage to Existences

Abilities/Powers

  • Magic Spells
  • Effects of singularities and black holes
  • Deletion and Existence ceasing

These are the general things, but there is plenty more. If it is not fire/flaming, magma, lava, burning, molten metals, etcetera; it can be adapted to.

Nexus Tier

The Nexus Tier consists of extremely problematic, yet stationary, parasites. The area around stage 3 beckons are practically devoid of non-parasitic life, due to the large amount of Primitive Tier parasites that the beckon creates.

By far the most problematic, the Nexus Tier of parasites is responsible for the creation of the strongest tiers of parasites. There are only a few parasites in the Nexus Tier, but all of them are capable of wreaking havoc should they not be dealt with in their early stages of development. The beckon has 4 stages of evolution, the 1st and 2nd stages are easy to deal with, as the 1st stage only creates Newborn Tier parasites and the 2nd stage only creates common Assimilated Tier parasites. When the beckon reaches the 3rd stage is when things get troublesome, with the stage 3 beckon creating 4-5 Primitive Tier parasites at a time.

Should a world have a Beckon Tree, or Stage 4 Beckon, it is extremely likely it will be overcome the parasites. The Beckon Tree is a formidable problem, creating 5-6 Pure Tier parasites at a time, causing Primitive Tier parasites in its territory to become Adapted Tier parasites, and the constant risk of the Beckon Tree creating the Biome Node. Should the Biome Node be created, the world its on will never be the same.

Lair and Lair Actions

Infected Lands

Every minute, the territory of the Infected Lands spreads 4-5 feet in all directions. Below are the changes to the environment caused by Infected Lands with a stage 3 beckon inhabiting them.

  • Rocks/Dirts. Rocks and dirts become greenish black and completely organic.
  • Metals. Metals become semi-organic with black, red, or green organic matter fused with them.
  • Plants. Flora in the Infected Lands are assimilated, becoming hostile towards those who don't serve the SRP-74 parasite.
  • Liquids. Liquids taken by the Infected Lands are bloodied, with water being the color of various bloods, and only somewhat transparent.
  • Sky. The air around the Infected Lands is polluted with organic particles, and the clouds are the same colors as the waters of the Infected Lands.

Lair's Passive Effects

  • Everything in the infected lands has COTH, due to the walls and ground being parasites.
  • Primitive Tier and Adapted Tier parasites will remember where Infected Lands are, and will notice if they are destroyed.
  • When killing a Medium or larger parasite (excluding Nexus Tier parasites), there is a 10% chance for a stage 1 beckon to emerge from its corpse.

Lair Actions

Only one Lair Action can be used per round. The Lair Actions are listed below.

Forced Evolution. All Primitive Tier parasites within 200 feet of the stage 3 beckon, immediately evolve into Adapted Tier parasites.

Removal Requirements

In order to destroy Infected Lands, one must kill all beckons that are within the Infected Lands. After all of the beckons are killed, the Infected Lands will rapidly deteriorate into dirts, stones, and Parasitic Residue.
