Formation. As long as two or more other creatures with Formation are within 5 feet of the soldier, the soldier ignores cover created by those creatures, ignores disadvantage from attacking at long range, and has access to its Hamstring Shot.
Longbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 150/600 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) piercing damage, or 12 (2d8 + 3) piercing damage if the target is within 5 feet of another creature with Formation.
Shortsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage.
Hamstring Shot (Formation Only). Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 150 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) piercing damage and the target must make a DC 13 Strength saving throw or have its walking speed halved until the start of the soldier's next turn.
Description
Across the lands, there exist divisions of soldiers with expert specialization in their field whose coordination with each other grants them peerless effectiveness on the battlefield. These are referred to as the sworn, a short moniker for those who are "sworn to the craft". Sworn might serve any nation or any creed, but they always fight in unison and fall into formation when battle begins.
Bow sworn are characterized by their skill with the longbow. They are born flankers, taking the fringes of the average sworn formation. Adept at pinning enemies and at picking off foes that find themselves in close proximity to the formation, bow sworn set up enemies to fall to their allies. Even above spear sworn, bow sworn are feared by cavalry units for their ability to cripple mounts' high mobility from a great distance.
