Regeneration. Giratina regains 20 hit points at the start of each of its turns. If it takes poison or psychic damage, this trait doesn't function until the end of its next turn. Giratina dies only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate.

Shadow Sneak. Giratina is invisible while in darkness.

Legendary Resistance (4/Day). If Giratina fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Actions

Multiattack. Giratina makes 6 Shadow Claw attacks.

Shadow Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +19 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 25 (3d8+10) slashing damage and 21 (6d6) necrotic damage.

Dragon Pulse (Recharge 5-6). Giratina unleashes a blast of energy in a line 15 feet wide and 300 feet long. Anything in the area of the blast must succeed on a DC 27 DEX save or take 88 (16d10) necrotic damage, taking half damage on a success.

Bonus Actions

Shadow Force. Giratina teleports to an unoccupied space within 30 feet of it. Each creature within 10 feet of it after it teleports must make a DC 27 CON saving throw or take 13 (2d12) necrotic damage, taking half on a success.

Legendary Actions

Giratina can take 4 legendary actions, choosing from the actions below. Only one legendary action can be used at a time, and only at the start of another creature's turn. Giratina regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Dragon Tail (Costs 2 Actions). Giratina sweeps its tail in a 25-foot cone originating from it. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 27 DEX save or be knocked prone and take 21 (6d6) bludgeoning damage and 21 (6d6) piercing damage.

Description

Giratina is a gigantic snake-dragon with six tendrils of darkness trailing from its back, each tipped with wickedly sharp red claws. It levitates 5 feet off the ground, unless it chooses otherwise. It once claimed dominion over the scattered worlds, along with its siblings. When lesser life-forms settled in those worlds, Giratina destroyed them to protect its land, but its siblings banished it for its violence. Giratina will tear away the boundaries between worlds and take what rightfully belongs to it.

Lair and Lair Actions

Giratina lairs in the Distortion World, a twisted realm mirroring the material plane. The realm is filled with floating islands of rock, with scraggly trees. Waterfalls that flow upwards and the bones of creatures who lost their way in here are also common features.

Regional Effects. The Distortion World was created by Giratina, and so it has ultimate control here. This manifests in a variety of ways.

Warped Gravity. Gravity within the Distortion World doesn't work properly. Creatures that fall within this realm take no damage when landing.

Twisted Sight. Giratina can observe all that happens within its realm. Creatures within the Distortion World are affected by the scrying spell until they leave.
