Description

Vampirate swabbies are submissive and obedient pirate crewmates who died along with (or perhaps at the hands of) their pirate captains. They wanted to go quietly into the afterlife, but their captains refused to let them. Now they spend their undead life serving the same captain they served in their non-undead life. Weaker and less motivated than a full fledged vampirate, they still serve as a valuable member to their vampirate crew. After all, somebody has to swab the poop deck.

A vampirate swabbie looks similar to a vampirate, gaunt with milky-white eyes and chalky dry skin, however they seem less imposing and less confidant. It probably has something to do with their posture. Like most vampirates, a vampirate swabbie has fangs but doesn’t use them to draw vital fluids from prey. This is because full vampirates consider it an unsavory act, and the vampirate swabbies just want to fit in. Instead they drain life energy from another creature by touching it or by siphoning off its energy from a short distance away. It gets the job done, but the vampirate swabbies method of life drain is not as powerful as a full vampirate and lacks the range.
