Traits

Bonding. The steed can magically bond with one creature it can see, immediately after spending at least 1 hour observing that creature while within 30 feet of it. The bond lasts until the steed bonds with a different creature or until the bonded creature dies. While bonded, the steed and the bonded creature can communicate telepathically with each other at a distance of up to 100 feet.

Lie Detector. The animal knows when a creature within 15 feet of it tells a lie.

Sneak Attack. You know how to strike subtly and exploit a foe’s distraction. Once per turn, you can deal an extra 1d6 damage to one creature you hit with an attack roll if you have Advantage on the roll and the attack uses a Finesse or a Ranged weapon. The extra damage’s type is the same as the weapon’s type. You don’t need Advantage on the attack roll if at least one of your allies is within 5 feet of the target, the ally doesn’t have the Incapacitated condition, and you don’t have Disadvantage on the attack roll.

Actions

Hooves (Horse Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage.

Bite (Fox Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d10 + 4) piercing damage. If the werefox moved at least 20 feet straight toward the target immediately before the hit and the target is a Medium or smaller creature, the target must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or have the prone condition.

Bonus Actions

Change Shape. The werefox polymorphs into a fox or back into its horse form. Its game statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its horse form if it dies.

Cunning Action. Your quick thinking and agility allow you to move and act quickly. On your turn, you can take one of the following actions as a Bonus Action: Dash, Disengage, or Hide.

Habitat: Any
