Greater Magic Resistance. The rakshasa automatically succeeds on saving throws against spells and other magical effects, and the attack rolls of spells automatically miss it. Without the rakshasa’s permission, no spell can observe the rakshasa remotely or detect its thoughts, creature type, or alignment.
Fiendish Restoration. If the rakshasa dies outside the Nine Hells, its body turns to ichor, and it gains a new body instantly, reviving with all its Hit Points somewhere in the Nine Hells.
Multiattack. The rakshasa makes three Cursed Touch attacks.
Cursed Touch. Melee Attack Roll: +10, reach 5 ft. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) Slashing damage plus 19 (3d12) Necrotic damage. If the target is a creature, it is cursed. While cursed, the target gains no benefit from finishing a Short or Long Rest.
Baleful Command (Recharge 5–6). Wisdom Saving Throw: DC 18, each enemy in a 30-foot Emanation originating from the rakshasa. Failure: 28 (8d6) Psychic damage, and the target has the Frightened and Incapacitated conditions until the start of the rakshasa’s next turn.
Spellcasting
The rakshasa casts one of the following spells, requiring no Material components and using Charisma as the spellcasting ability (spell save DC 26):
-
At Will: Detect Magic, Detect Thoughts, Disguise Self, Mage Hand, Minor Illusion
-
3/Day Each: Dominate Person, Greater Invisibility, Modify Memory, Telekinesis
-
1/Day Each: Fly, Invisibility, Major Image, Plane Shift, Power Word Stun, Feeblemind, True Seeing, Mass Suggestion, Mind Blank
Legendary Resistance (2/Day)
If the rakshasa fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Unraveling Presence (Aura, 60-ft radius)
Creatures within the aura suffer disadvantage on saving throws against mind-altering effects. If they fail, their memories subtly shift to align with the rakshasa’s desires.
Twisting Fate (Recharge 5-6)
The rakshasa targets a creature within 120 ft. and forces them to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 26). On a failure, they lose all memories of a specific event or gain false memories, irrevocably changing their perception.
Legendary Actions (3/Turn)
The rakshasa can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the following:
-
Force Submission. Targets one creature within 30 ft., forcing them to make a Charisma saving throw (DC 26). On a failure, they are charmed for 1 minute and will obey the rakshasa’s spoken commands, even if they contradict prior allegiances.
-
Echoed Suggestion. The rakshasa casts Suggestion on up to 3 creatures, affecting them even if they previously resisted its effect.
-
Veil of the Tyrant. The rakshasa momentarily disappears into illusions, forcing attacks against it to automatically miss until the start of its next turn.
Lair and Lair Actions
Lair Actions (Rakshasa Domain of Influence)
On initiative count 20, the rakshasa can use a lair action:
-
Sever the Will. Targets one creature the rakshasa can see. The creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC 26) or become incapacitated for 1 minute, unable to take actions or reactions.
-
Distorted Reality. The rakshasa rewrites local history—NPCs forget key events or recall false ones, altering relationships, conflicts, and alliances.
-
Shadow Entrapment. Shadows twist unnaturally, grabbing a creature within 60 ft., forcing them to make a Strength saving throw (DC 24) or be restrained by magical darkness.
