Description
Within the Lolth-Sworn Drow cities of the Underdark, discontentment with the Spider-Queen's established order have always broiled just beneath the surface; that most-thin veneer of complacency. As the tension increases, and that dam seems poised to break and allow a river of rebellion to wash over the Lolth-Sworn cities, the elites of the society must find a way to reestablish control over the masses and further cement Lolth's dominion over the Underdark.
Young Bayle'En was one such example, coming from a minor noble house that no one remembers anymore. Arrested, and subsequently executed, for plotting to overthrow the Lolth-Sworn regime, Bayle'En was transformed into a Drider by the Spider-Queen; the most horrific punishment she could bestow upon one of her followers. Despite Lolth's constant and torturous machinations placed upon him, Bayle'En's spirit remained strong, never-breaking under her unyielding assault. He could not disobey her as a Drider, but remained determined to find an escape and reignite his plans of rebellion.
Fortune smiled upon him it seemed, and as if by luck, Bayle'En found himself in the presence the Dark Dancer, Lolth's estranged and godly daughter Eilistraee, who took pity upon the man and worked her magic to undo her mother's foul curse. Now reborn as an elf once again, Bayle'En pledged himself to the younger goddess, and swore a new vow: "Upon my sword and soul, I shall work tirelessly to shrive Lolth's puppeteering, silken-strands from the minds and hearts of my brethren across the world. Should I ever falter in this task, then may the Spider-Queen take me once more..."
