Keen Sight and Smell. The Warmaster Owlbear has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight or smell.
Relentless Predator. If the Warmaster Owlbear takes 30 damage or less that would reduce it to 0 hit points, it is reduced to 1 hit point instead. It can't use this feature again until it finishes a long rest.
Siege Monster. The Warmaster Owlbear deals double damage to objects and structures.
Territorial Instinct. The Warmaster Owlbear has advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks to track creatures within its perceived territory, and advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.
Multiattack. The Warmaster Owlbear makes three attacks: one with its Beak and two with its Claws, or three attacks with its Brutal Charge.
- Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (3d8 + 7) piercing damage. If the target is a Large or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 22). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the owlbear can't use its beak attack on another target.
- Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (3d6 + 7) slashing damage.
- Brutal Charge. The Warmaster Owlbear moves at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a claw attack on the same turn. The target takes an extra 10 (3d6) slashing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 22 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Aggressive Movement. The Warmaster Owlbear can use a bonus action to move up to half its speed toward a hostile creature it can see.
Feral Glare. The Warmaster Owlbear targets one creature within 30 feet of it that it can see. If the target is hostile, it must succeed on a DC 22 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute. A frightened creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the Warmaster Owlbear's Feral Glare for the next 24 hours.
Vicious Retaliation. When a creature within 5 feet of the Warmaster Owlbear hits it with a melee attack, the Warmaster Owlbear can use its reaction to make one claw attack (+14 to hit) against that creature.
Unleashed Fury. When the Warmaster Owlbear takes damage from a spell or an attack that originated more than 30 feet away from it, it can use its reaction to move up to its speed directly towards the source of the damage. During this movement, any creature in its path must succeed on a DC 22 Strength saving throw or be pushed 15 feet away from the Warmaster Owlbear and knocked prone. Creatures that succeed on the save are pushed 5 feet away instead and are not knocked prone. This movement ignores opportunity attacks.
The Warmaster Owlbear can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The Warmaster Owlbear regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Move. The Warmaster Owlbear moves up to half its speed.
Lashing Claw. The Warmaster Owlbear makes one claw attack (+14 to hit).
Thunderous Roar (Costs 2 Actions). The Warmaster Owlbear emits a bone-shaking roar. Each creature within 30 feet of the owlbear that can hear it must succeed on a DC 22 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute. A frightened creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the Warmaster Owlbear's Thunderous Roar for the next 24 hours.
Rend Armor (Costs 3 Actions). The Warmaster Owlbear makes one beak attack (+14 to hit) against a creature it is grappling. If the attack hits, the target's AC is reduced by 2 until repaired (requires a long rest and smith's tools) or by magical means. This effect can stack up to a maximum of 6.
