Unrelenting Charge. At the start of its turn, if the Beholder Engine is at least 10 feet away from a target, it can move up to its speed toward that target in a straight line. For every 10 feet moved this way before reaching the target, the Beholder Engine adds 1d6 bludgeoning damage to its next attack. If it moves at least 30 feet before the attack, the target must succeed on a DC 12 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Tactical Retreat. After making a successful melee attack, the Beholder Engine can use its bonus action to move up to 15 feet away from its target without provoking opportunity attacks.
Bashful Roll. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target.
Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage plus 3 (1d6) fire damage. The target must succeed on a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw or take 1d6 fire damage.
Description
While a Beholder Engine is primarily considered a close-range threat, it frequently presents unforeseen dangers to Investigators during Hollow expeditions.
Even seasoned Investigators can experience an overwhelming sense of panic when confronted by the piercing gaze of its eyes in the darkness.
Within the Hollows, fear has a tendency to intensify Ether corruption, thereby inviting calamity.
"The only way to overcome fear... is to stare into it and fight it back."
