Blue Screen Virus (Passive Aura)
Any creature that makes direct physical contact with Blue Screen (touch attacks, grapples, etc.) without protection (gloves, armor, magic barrier) must succeed on a DC 25 Constitution saving throw or become Infected.
Infected Condition (homebrew):
-
Target is stunned for 1 minute
-
Takes 6d10 force damage per round
-
Each failed save (at the end of each of their turns) causes increasing glitch distortion:
-
Round 2: Disadvantage on all attacks/saves
-
Round 3: Cannot speak or cast spells
-
Round 4+: HP max reduced by 20 per turn
-
Round 5: If not cured, target disintegrates into corrupted data
-
Immunity: Constructs, other viruses, antiviruses, or beings with no physical form (e.g. elementals, ghosts) are immune.
Glitchcode Immunity
Blue Screen cannot be affected by code-based, virus-based, or reality-altering effects unless from a being of Outer Tier or higher.
AU Hopping (At Will)
As a bonus action, Blue Screen can slip between alternate universes (AUs). Mechanically, this functions like Plane Shift, but he can bring up to 10 willing or grappled creatures, and can target any custom D&D realm, alternate timelines, or the Anti-Void.
System Freeze (Recharge 6)
Blue Screen freezes the entire battlefield for 1 turn. All creatures except Blue Screen must make a DC 25 Wisdom saving throw or be:
-
Frozen in time until the end of Blue Screen's next turn
-
Lose all reactions, and can’t take Legendary Actions for 1 round
-
On a success: Can move or act, but all movement is halved, and actions are delayed by 1 turn
Glitch Strike (Melee Weapon Attack)
+18 to hit, reach 5 ft, one target
Hit: 50 (6d10 + 10) force damage
-
Target must make a DC 23 Constitution saving throw or gain 1 level of glitch corruption, a stacking debuff:
-
1 stack: Disadvantage on one ability score
-
2+ stacks: Forced concentration checks at DC 20
-
4+ stacks: Permanent spell slot loss until removed
-
Memory Spike (Recharge 5–6)
Blue Screen summons a giant corrupted error spike from the ground (range 120 ft).
-
Target creature must make a DC 24 Intelligence saving throw or take:
-
88 (16d10) psychic + 66 (12d12) force
-
On a failure, the target also forgets 1 of their class features (randomly chosen) until a Wish or Greater Restoration is cast.
-
Forced Reboot (Recharge 4–6)
Blue Screen selects one creature it can see. The creature must make a DC 25 Charisma saving throw.
-
On a failure, their form is reverted to its original AU/verse version, losing all buffs, form changes, or transformations (like Wild Shape, Polymorph, or homebrew forms like Ascension/True Soul, etc.)
-
Duration: 1 minute or until Blue Screen ends concentration (as if concentrating on a spell)
Corrupt Teleport
Teleports up to 120 ft and destroys the pixels of reality behind him. Any creature in the path (30 ft line) takes 6d10 force and must make a DC 22 Dex save or fall prone and glitched, losing their next reaction.
Error Slam (1 action)
Teleport to a target and deliver a crashing blow:
-
Hit: 4d10 force + 4d10 thunder
-
Target is pushed 20 ft and must make a Strength save (DC 20) or be knocked unconscious for 1 turn
Blue Crash (2 actions)
Create a collapsing glitch field in a 60 ft radius.
All creatures take:
-
12d10 force + 10d8 lightning, DC 24 Dexterity save for half
-
Any creature that fails becomes frozen for 1 round
AU Dive (1 action)
Blue Screen hops into another AU momentarily and reappears behind any target on the map, ignoring line of sight and range. His next attack that turn has advantage and deals double damage if it hits.
Description
Blue Screen looks more like Swap than Error. He's a short skeleton with blue bones. His right arm and left leg are blocky, as if his body isn't entirely corporeal.
Blue Screen has a similarity with Error having both error messages and glitches covering them.
His "pupils" are both baby blue colored. One is a small oval with a smaller one next to it and a baby blue "ring" around it, the other one is unknown symbol with a much thinner "ring" around it.
Lair and Lair Actions
On initiative count 20 (losing ties), Blue Screen can cause one of the following:
-
Anti-Void Surge: Corrupt code fills the area. All enemy saving throws are made at disadvantage for 1 round.
-
Backup Loop: Rewinds his last turn, letting him repeat 1 action he took.
-
System Restore: Heals 150 HP or ends one debuff affecting him.
