Bumbling Flight. The giant beetle must end its turn landed on a surface when it uses its fly speed.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 11 Constitution saving throw, taking 9 (2d8) acid damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Acid Spit (Recharge 5–6). Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 30/60 ft., one creature. Hit: 10 (3d6) acid damage, and the target must make a DC 11 Constitution saving throw, becoming Frightened of the giant beetle on a failed save as toxic pheromones assault its senses. A creature may repeat this save to shake off the effect by taking an action on its turn to try to wipe the caustic substance from its body, or by submerging itself in water.
Description
This giant carnivorous beetle uses acid to partially dissolve its prey. When threatened, it can eject a squirt of foul acid from its abdomen that carries foul pheromones to frighten off potential predators. Its heavy carapace makes it a clumsy flyer.
