Docile Nature. The Aptonoth is non-aggressive and avoids conflict. It flees if a member of its herd is injured or killed.
Herd Mentality. When within 10 feet of at least two other Aptonoth, this creature has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks and saving throws against being frightened.
Trample Instinct. If the Aptonoth is forced to flee, it can move through spaces occupied by Small or smaller creatures without penalty, though such creatures must succeed on a DC 11 Dexterity saving throw or take 2 (1d4) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone.
Tail Swipe. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target.
Hit: 3 (1d6) bludgeoning damage. (Only used when defending a calf or cornered.)
Description
Aptonoths are large, gentle herbivores found in temperate and arid regions. While usually docile, they rely on the strength of their herd and become skittish when separated. They are often hunted for meat, but some settlements tame them for work and travel.
