1/Day Each: Imprisonment, Antilife Shell, Finger of Death
Legendary Action Uses: 3. Immediately after another creature’s turn, the empyrean can expend a use to take one of the following actions. The empyrean regains all expended uses at the start of each of its turns.

Shockwave of Glory. Constitution Saving Throw: DC 23, each creature in a 30-foot Emanation originating from the empyrean. Failure: 27 (6d8) Force damage, and the target has the Prone condition. Success: Half damage only. Failure or Success: The empyrean can’t take this action again until the start of its next turn.
Smite. The empyrean makes one Divine Ray attack.
Description
Physical Description: Ajdé's form is often somber and obscured, not out of malice, but out of respect for the profound transition he embodies. He might appear as a tall, cloaked figure, the hood of his robe casting his features in deep shadow, or perhaps his face is a calm, ageless mask of serene acceptance. His movements are slow, deliberate, and utterly silent. His touch is said to be cold, not with the chill of undeath, but with the peaceful stillness of a winter's night. He might carry a symbolic tool – not necessarily a weapon, but perhaps a staff of darkened, smooth wood that guides souls, or an hourglass whose sands never cease to flow. His presence is not terrifying, but profoundly solemn and peaceful, bringing a sense of finality and release.
Personality & Demeanor: Ajdé is the embodiment of impartiality, patience, and solemn duty. He is not evil, nor does he revel in suffering; rather, he sees death as the natural, inevitable counterpart to life, a necessary part of the cosmic cycle. [3, 4] His demeanor is calm, quiet, and deeply understanding of grief, though he remains firm in his role as the shepherd of souls to their final rest. He is the quiet end to all stories, the peaceful release from worldly burdens. He opposes the unnatural prolongation of life through undeath, seeing it as a corruption of the cycle. His wisdom is profound, born from witnessing the end of all things.
Roleplaying Hooks & Goals (as a Deity):
- Guiding Souls: His primary function is to ensure the orderly and peaceful transition of souls from the mortal world to their designated afterlife.
- Opposing Undeath: Actively works against necromancers and forces that create sentient undead, viewing them as an abhorrent corruption of the natural order. [3]
- Maintaining the Balance: Works in concert with Anvi (Life) to ensure the cycle of life and death remains in equilibrium. He does not seek to hasten death, only to ensure its inevitability is respected.
- Offering Solace: While he does not intervene to prevent death, his presence can bring a strange comfort to the dying and the grieving, an acceptance of the natural end.
- Judging the Unworthy Dead: May have a role in ensuring souls that have committed egregious acts face appropriate judgment or are barred from peaceful rest, depending on the cosmology.
Possible Flaw (as a Deity): "My unwavering impartiality and focus on the natural end can sometimes be perceived as coldness or indifference to profound suffering, as I will not intervene to prevent a death that is 'due,' no matter how tragic its circumstances." Or, "My deep understanding of endings might lead to a form of divine melancholy or detachment, a quiet sorrow for the constant fading of all things that can make connection with the vibrant flux of life difficult."
"All that lives must fade. I am the gentle hand that closes weary eyes, the quiet sigh of the world's turning."
