Pack Animal.
Can carry up to 300 lbs of gear. Usually carries Kalim’s weird stuff and emotional weight.
Desert Fortitude.
Advantage on saving throws against exhaustion from heat, dehydration, or travel.
Feature: The Camel Who Might Be Awakened
Barack might have been accidentally awakened during one of Kalim’s spirit rituals. Once per long rest, he can “speak” a single sentence aloud to everyone’s shock… or he might just spit instead. (DM's choice.)
Hoof Kick. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target.
Hit: 8 (1d8 + 3) bludgeoning damage.
If the target is Medium or smaller, it must succeed on a DC 11 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. (“Don’t test me.”)
Camel Spit (1/Day). Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, range 30 ft., one target.
Hit: 4 (1d4) acid damage. Target must make a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or be blinded until the end of their next turn.Barack only does this when severely annoyed. Kalim refers to it as a “spiritual rebuke.”
Sand Plop.
When asked to enter obvious danger, Barack may immediately sit down, becoming prone and immovable for 1 round. Creatures trying to move him must succeed a DC 15 Strength check. This is not magic. It is stubbornness.
Description
Legends speak of many desert spirits, but none are quite as irritable, judgmental, or flatulent as Barack. A long-suffering beast of burden with a soul forged in sun and sarcasm, Barack is the loyal (if reluctant) companion to Kalim the Camel Whisperer. Though he appears to be just a regular camel, travelers claim he’s been touched by the spirits of ancient caravans—or at least exposed to one too many of Kalim’s incense-fueled "rituals."
Barack may not talk (or might talk only when no one's listening), but his glares, groans, and stubborn sit-down strikes communicate volumes. He’s been known to lay low raiders with a single disdainful kick or blind would-be assassins with a well-aimed wad of spit. Most creatures underestimate Barack—once.
