Description

No member of the Cult of the Dragon would be considered sane by most beings in the world, but out of the Cult of the Dragon, the "Claws" sometimes called "Claw boys" may be the most fanatic and most dedicated worshipers in the cult of the dragon. "Claws" become obsessed with becoming a dragon themselves to serve their master in a "higher form", the form of a dragon. They start this transformation by cutting off one of the fingers on each hand to make their hands more like that of a dragonborn or some of the dragons who only have 3 fingers and a thumb. This is just the beginning steps down a path of insanity. They become obsessed with modifying and adorning their armor to look more dragon like with scales and spikes. For them to take off their armor and mask is to admit that they are not a higher form and in their minds that is not an option. Many Claws never make it very long because they end up dying from septic wounds from never taking off their armor. Through non-stop worship of their dragon deity, and constant close proximity to their deity, a small percentage of these claws get imbued with dragon magic that allows them to graft to their armor and their dragon claw gauntlets. By this point, the "Claws" transformation is complete, they no longer need to worry about ever having to remove their Cult of the Dragon Masks or their "dragon armor" because in their mind, it is part of them. "Claws" fight with the ferocity of a raged berserker charging into combat wanting to rend things apart with their dragon claws. "Claws" give zero thought to their own safety when it comes to defending their master or doing their master's bidding.

All though the "Claws" are devout members of the Cult of the Dragon, and they listen to their leaders in the cult, the other members in the cult often find them rather difficult to work with as they lose their minds with their obsession of becoming a dragon.

Cult of the Dragon Mask - Attunement: Only someone who truly worships the dragon whose scales the mask was made from can attune to the mask.

Once attuned, the wearer of the Cult of the Dragon Mask is granted the following abilities:

  • Find Your Master. You always know which way to travel to get to your master (The dragon who's scales were made to forge the mask). You have no idea the distance, only the direction you need to travel to get to them.
  • Telepathy. You can speak telepathically to your master as long as you are on the same plane of existence with them.
  • Remote Viewing. Your master can focus on you and see, hear and smell everything just as if they were there as long as you are on the same plane of existence with them. During this time you can not see, hear or smell anything even though you are still conscious.
  • Mind control. Your master can take over your body as long as you are on the same plane of existence with them, in addition to the remote viewing ability, your master gains complete control of your body, abilities, and powers. During this time, your mind is unconscious and is completely unaware of what is happening.
  • Blessing of the Master.  If you are within 100 feet of your master, you gain the effects of a Bless spell.
  • Resistance. You gain resistance to the type or types of damage of your master's breath weapon(s). This effect does not work versus your master.
  • Mind Shielding. You are immune to magic that allows other creatures to read your thoughts, determine whether you are lying, know your alignment, or know your creature type. Furthermore, this effect allows someone to lie in a Zone of Truth without the caster of the spell knowing its a lie. This effect does not work versus your master.
  • Report Death. If you die while wearing the Cult of the Dragon Mask, your master is made aware of your death as long as you are on the same plane of existence with them.
