Spellcasting. The Bloodwraith is a 1st-level spellcaster. It knows only one cantrip as a result of its tremendous power.
Cantrip (at will): Toll of the Dead.
Hatred Manifest. The Bloodwraith's unending obsession with its previous death gives it advantage on all CON, DEX, and WIS saving throws.
Be At Peace. If the remains of the Bloodwraith or the object it's tied to is burned, the Bloodwraith's spirit regains its personality prior to death. If it is willing, the spirit may choose to come to terms with its demise and ascend to the astral plane. The Bloodwraith body is destroyed. The DM may determine if and how this information is presented.
Multi-attack. The Bloodwraith can make two attacks per turn. Two Scratch attacks or one Scratch and one Wail.
Scratch. Melee Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 7 (1d6+ 3) necrotic, slashing damage. The Bloodwraith scratches with it's long, festering nails.
Wail. Ranged Attack: +5 to hit, range 60/70 ft., 2 targets (within 10 feet of each other). Hit: 10 (1d8 + 4) psychic damage. The Bloodwraith wails a bone-chilling cry. Targeted creature(s) must succeed on DC13 CON throw or take full damage on a hit or half on a miss. Success results in half damage on a hit and no damage on a miss.
Hopeless Visage. When attacked by non-magical means, the Bloodwraith's body behaves akin to a fine mist, with all material passing through it to no avail. Should any attack miss the Bloodwraith from a creature it can see, it uses its reaction to attempt to frighten the attacking creature. The creature must succeed on a DC15 CON saving throw or be frightened until the end of their turn. The Bloodwraith can only use this reaction on one creature per turn.
Description
The soul of a person corrupted by evil. Almost exclusively female and human, Bloodwraiths are people who fell victim to horrible and vile demises. Deaths so unjust and foul that the soul becomes bound to the material plane. Their power equal to the pain they endured, Bloodwraiths are lonely creatures that are bound to the place of their demise or to an object. They can, in the hands of a powerful magic user, be manipulated should the correct conditions be met.
