In dim light or darkness, the Spitecrawler can take the Hide action as a bonus action.

Cling and Creep.
The Spitecrawler ignores difficult terrain when climbing and can move along ceilings or vertical surfaces without making ability checks.

Actions

Hookclaw. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target.
Hit: 6 (1d8 + 2) slashing damage.

Skitter Pulse (Recharge 5–6).
The Spitecrawler emits a burst of predatory fear. Each creature within 10 feet that can see it must succeed on a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened until the end of its next turn.

Description

The Spitecrawler is a magebred predator developed for urban subjugation—used to flush out dissidents in tight quarters. With the body of a sinewy insect fused to hunks of fiend-blooded flesh and aberrant chitin, its movements are twitchy and unnatural. Its long hooklike claws secrete a slow-acting necrotic agent that blackens wounds, and its presence in the shadows seems to whisper directly into the back of one’s mind.

Created in deep Vivisec labs for crowd terror and rapid deployment in the sewer tunnels of Kowloon and the Deep, many Spitecrawlers now roam free, nesting in forgotten pipes and emerging only when the lights go out.
