Description

Wendigos' are evil nature spirits that were once humans of Northren decent who for reasons unknown most likely starvation resorted to cannibalism. Because of their acts there were cursed to live on as an abomination with an unending hunger for flesh. Wendigos' appearance resembles that of a decaying upright deer. They have grayish brown skin with patches of torn fur spread across their body. There skin appears to be falling off and often they have exposed bone and organs. They stand about ten and a half feet off the ground. Their arms are unnaturally long for their body and end in long, clawed fingers instead of hooves. There mouths are lip-less and contain rows of jagged broken teeth. They eyes are pupil-less and appear pure white.  Wendigos' spend most of their nights hunting by by using their cunning to ambush prey where they then drag their prey to their lairs to consume during the day. Due to the nature of their curse they always hunt alone. Wendigos' primary ambition is simply their unending hunger, they do however have an instinct for self-preservation and will not continue to fight if they feel they will lose they will try what they can to save themselves.

Lair and Lair Actions

Wendigos' prefer dark secluded areas such as sunken groves, caves, crevices etc. Since they only care for flesh particularly that of humans Wendigos' lairs are usually filled with carcasses. Wendigos' on rare occasions have been known to capture people in an effort to lure in more unsuspecting victims using their ability to mimic voices and climb to stay out of sight to ambush their prey. When in their lair and they have a captive and when they know they are being pursued they will almost always use this strategy. They never sleep but they can be preoccupied with eating when not aware of pursuers but due to their acute  senses they are difficult to sneak up on. Regardless of if a Wendigo possesses a victim or not however they prefer ambush and will in some way attempt to ambush intruders in their lair if they can.
