Dimensional Anchor. Yara can't be teleported or sent to another plane of existence unless she chooses to be.
Epic Boss Hit Points. Increase Yara's starting hit points and hit dice by 250 (20d12 + 140) for each player character above four, or reduce her starting hit points and hit dice by that amount for each player character below four.
Immutable Form. Yara is immune to any spell or effect that would alter her form.
Banishment. If the Yara is killed, only her physical body is destroyed. Her soul, however, is banished to the foul plane the Malfathis first originated from. Unless a Wish spell is used to stop it, Yara's body will reform itself in the place it was destroyed after 7 years. A Wish spell used in this manner is always stressful, and the caster must roll to determine whether or not they can cast the Wish spell ever again.
Necrotic Aura. A creature that starts its turn within 30 feet of the Executioner takes 10 (3d6) Necrotic damage.
Stoic. Yara can't take Reactions.
Bound to the Throne. If Yara begins its turn more than 100 feet away from her Throne of Skulls, her form disintegrates and reappears 1 minute later seated on her throne.
Yara always takes her turn on Initiative count 20. On her turn, Yara can use her movement and interaction as normal. However, she does not take an action or Bonus Action on her turn unless forced to do so by a spell or other effect. Instead, Yara takes one of the following Epic Actions at the end of each player character's turn:
Run Forward (1/Round). Yara moves up to her Speed.
Death Grip. Corrupted tendrils appear and take hold of one creature within 300 feet of Yara. The target has the Grappled condition (escape DC 15), and it has the Restrained condition until the grapple ends. If the creature was flying, it is dragged to the ground and lands 5 feet in front of Yara. The condition ends if Yara uses Death Grip against a different target.
Souldrinker. Melee or Ranged Attack Roll: +18, reach 10 ft. or range 60 ft. Hit: 45 (10d6 + 10) Slashing damage which ignores any Resistance or Immunity to Slashing damage. Immediately after making a ranged attack, this weapon flies back to the Yara's hands. If a creature is taken to 0 hit points as a result of being hit by Souldrinker, it is targeted by this effect: Effect: The next time the target makes a death saving throw, roll a d20. Any result other than a 1 is treated as a 2. Critical Hit: The target dies unless it has the Epic Resistance action or Legendary Resistance trait.
Destroyer (1/Round). Yara chooses a Huge or smaller object or structure within 5 feet of her. Alternatively, she can choose a spell or magical effect within 30 feet of her. The object or structure is destroyed, or the spell or effect ends.
Summon Grasping Shadows (1/Round). Yara targets 1d4 corpses within 300 feet of her. Each target's spirit rises as a Grasping Shadows in the nearest unoccupied space. The spirits act each round on Initiative count 20, and disappear if Yara is destroyed.
Epic Resistance. Yara chooses one condition, spell, or other effect currently affecting her and rolls 1d20. On an 11+, the effect ends on her. Yara can use this action even if she would otherwise be unable to take actions, her actions are being controlled by another creature, or if a spell or effect alters her game statistics.
Description
"Once the stalwart Captain of Barleyvale’s guard, Yara Thornbrook was a woman defined by loyalty—but her loyalty was to the wrong master. When the Faith United came for Barleyvale, it was Yara who sprung the trap, delivering the town and its people to ruin with cold precision. Her reward was abandonment, left alone amidst the ashes and rot she helped create."
"But where mortals turned from her, the corruption did not. The creeping madness of the Malfathis embraced her, whispering secrets and promises until she rose again—twisted, transformed, and worshipped by the desperate. Now she is feared as Yara Thornbrook, the Arch Traitor Ascended, a figure no longer fully mortal, nor fully aberrant, but something far worse."
"In the shattered heart of Barleyvale, Yara sits upon a throne built from the skulls of those she betrayed—a grotesque monument that anchors her to the world. From this grim seat of power she commands horrors, her whispers reaching into the minds of broken survivors, turning them into zealots who worship the corruption as salvation."
In her hands she wields Souldrinker, a monstrous blade of impossible metal, humming with hunger. It is said that a single stroke of that terrible sword does more than cut flesh—it severs hope itself, leaving nothing behind but silence and ash.
Though her body cannot stray far from her throne, her influence stretches far wider, seeping into dreams, twisting hearts, and calling the lost and the damned to her ruined domain. Barleyvale festers beneath her gaze—a city of death awaiting the return of those who abandoned it."
