Traits

Amphibious. Uvar can breathe air and water.

Legendary Resistance (6/Day). If Uvar fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Divine Storm Aura (Aura, 120 ft.) A crackling tempest surrounds Uvar. Creatures of his choice in this area have disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws and cannot benefit from invisibility or magical silence. Enemies that start their turn in the aura take 14 (4d6) lightning damage and 14 (4d6) thunder damage.

Legend of Order. Uvar’s presence enforces the natural law. Spells that impose charm, fear, confusion, or madness automatically fail within 120 feet of him.

Skyborn Sovereignty. Uvar is unaffected by gravity, environmental effects, or difficult terrain. He always acts first in initiative unless surprised.

Magic Resistance. Uvar has advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects.

Magic Weapons. His attacks are considered magical.

Actions

Multiattack. Uvar makes three attacks with Skycleaver or casts a spell and makes two attacks.

Skycleaver (Mythic War-Axe)

Melee Weapon Attack: +19 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target
Hit: 45 (6d12 + 10) slashing damage plus 22 (5d8) lightning damage.
On a crit: The target must succeed on a DC 27 Constitution saving throw or be disintegrated in a pillar of thunder. On a success, it takes double damage instead.

Storm Breaker (Recharge 5–6)

Uvar slams Skycleaver into the ground, creating a 90-ft. radius shockwave. Each creature of his choice must make a DC 27 Dexterity saving throw, taking 88 (16d10) thunder damage and be knocked prone on a fail, or half damage on a success. Creatures that fail by 5 or more are also stunned until the end of their next turn.

Call the Tempest (1/Day)

Uvar summons a divine storm across a 1-mile radius centered on himself. This functions as a Mythic Storm (see Mythic Actions) and lasts 1 hour, moving with him. Within it:

  • All ranged weapon attacks have disadvantage.

  • Spellcasters must roll a DC 20 Constitution check or lose concentration each round.

  • Each round, a random bolt of divine lightning strikes a hostile creature (12d10 lightning).

Spellcasting

Uvar is a 20th-level spellcaster (Wisdom +9, +18 to hit, DC 27). He prepares the following domain spells:

Bonus Actions

Tempest Command (Recharge 4–6)

Uvar speaks a single word of storm-law, commanding the elemental forces around him.

Effect: Uvar chooses up to 3 creatures he can see within 120 feet. Each must succeed on a DC 27 Constitution saving throw or be either pushed 60 feet, knocked prone, or blinded by lightning (disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks until the end of their next turn). He chooses the effect per creature.

“His voice is not heard—it is obeyed.”

Reactions

Skycleaver Reversal

When a creature misses Uvar with a melee attack, he may channel divine wind to punish their arrogance.

Trigger: A creature misses Uvar with a melee weapon attack within 20 feet.
Effect: Uvar immediately makes a single Skycleaver attack against that creature. If it hits, the target must also succeed on a DC 27 Strength saving throw or be launched 30 feet into the air and knocked prone.

“Miss once. Learn what the sky does to fools.”

Legendary Actions

LEGENDARY ACTIONS

Uvar can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn.

  • Storm Step. Uvar teleports up to 120 feet to a space in the air, leaving behind a blast of thunder (10d6 damage in 10-ft. radius).

  • Wrath of the Sky. Uvar calls down a bolt of lightning on a visible enemy. DC 27 Dex save or take 42 (12d6) lightning damage.

  • Thunder Reprisal (Costs 2). When hit by a melee attack, Uvar releases a burst of thunder. All enemies within 15 feet take 28 (8d6) thunder damage and must succeed on a Strength save (DC 27) or be knocked prone.

Mythic Actions

MYTHIC TRAIT: Tempest Incarnate (1/Rest)

When Uvar is reduced to 0 HP for the first time, the storm surrounding him erupts. He regains 500 HP and enters his Mythic Form for the next 10 rounds.

While in Mythic Form:

  • Skycleaver deals an extra 6d10 radiant damage.

  • Uvar can take 4 legendary actions per round.

  • Creatures within his aura automatically take 30 lightning + 30 thunder at the start of their turn.

  • He can cast storm of vengeance once without expending a spell slot at will.

Mythic Actions (Only in Mythic Form)

  • Lightning Crown (Costs 1). Uvar marks a creature with a crown of lightning. That creature becomes a lightning rod — all lightning attacks within 60 ft. are redirected to them until the end of their next turn.

  • Storm Chain (Costs 2). Uvar throws a chain of lightning at up to 3 targets within 120 feet. Each target must make a DC 27 Constitution save or take 72 (16d8) lightning damage and be paralyzed until the end of their next turn.

  • Judgment of the Sky (Costs 3). Uvar calls down a divine thunderbolt on a creature. The target must succeed on a DC 27 Dexterity saving throw or take 200 lightning and thunder damage, halved on success. This ignores resistances and immunities unless the target is a god.

Description

Title: The Thunder Crown, Firstborn of the Sky, Allfather of Giants
Gargantuan Giant (Deity), Lawful Neutral
Domains: Tempest, Order, War

Lore Snippet

Uvar, Allfather of the Giants, is not a god of sermons or temples — he is the law of the storm, the order of battle, the rumbling justice of the sky. His war against the Primordial Tyrants reshaped the planes, giving rise to the Giant Pantheon and the thunder-born laws that govern the elements.

A colossal storm-wrapped titan stands upon a floating stone platform above a swirling thunderstorm. His body is sculpted from sky-darkened stone and glowing with crackling lightning beneath his skin. A cloak of churning clouds trails behind him, and his beard flows like mist threaded with starlight. His eyes glow like twin suns before a storm, and in his massive hand, he grips Skycleaver — a mythic war-axe forged from a shattered star, trailing arcs of divine lightning. The skies above split with roaring thunder as he raises his axe, casting judgment across a war-torn, rain-lashed landscape below.

Lair and Lair Actions

Uvar’s Lair: The Tempest Crown

Location:

Floating high above the highest peaks of Ysgard, Uvar’s lair is a levitating fortress of storm-stone surrounded by an eternal cyclone. Called The Tempest Crown, this sacred site is both his sanctuary and throne—a rotating ring of sky-islands orbiting a central monolith shaped like a great anvil wrapped in thunderclouds.

The entire lair exists within a permanent storm, with lightning eternally circling its skybound arenas, grand halls of wind-carved basalt, and a shattered stairway of floating platforms stretching into the upper air.

Lair Traits (active while Uvar is present in his lair)

The region within 1 mile of Uvar’s lair is subject to the following magical effects:

  1. Ceaseless Thunder: Thunder rolls constantly. Ranged weapon attacks suffer disadvantage, and verbal spellcasting requires a DC 15 Constitution check to avoid disruption.

  2. Skyward Gravity: Gravity pulls outward from the central spire, not downward. Flying creatures are not affected, but others must make DC 15 Strength (Athletics) checks to leap or climb between floating islands.

  3. The Sky Judges: Giant ghostly visages of storm-wrought ancestors manifest in the clouds. Once per day, Uvar can channel their wrath to smite any creature within 300 feet with a bolt of judgment, dealing 40 (8d10) radiant damage (no action required; DM's discretion or tied to lair action).

  4. No False Gods: Divine magic not granted by the Giant Pantheon or Nature itself falters. Other deities’ clerics must succeed on a DC 18 Wisdom check when casting any spell of 5th level or higher.

Lair Actions (Initiative count 20, losing initiative ties)

While in his lair, Uvar can invoke the following effects. He cannot use the same lair action two rounds in a row.

1. Thunderclap of Judgment

A massive shockwave ripples through the lair. Each enemy Uvar can see must make a DC 26 Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of their next turn and take 36 (8d8) thunder damage. On a success, they take half damage and are not stunned.

2. Living Lightning

A sentient bolt of divine lightning arcs across the battlefield. Uvar targets one creature he can see. The bolt leaps to up to 3 other creatures within 60 feet of the first. Each must make a DC 26 Dexterity saving throw or take 45 (10d8) lightning damage and be unable to take reactions until the end of their next turn.

3. Order of the Sky

Uvar declares law. Choose one:

  • Silence the Wild: All spellcasting within the lair requires concentration, even for non-concentration spells, until the next round.

  • Ground the Unworthy: All flying creatures of Uvar’s choice are forced to the ground (DC 26 Strength save or fall prone and lose flight until the end of their next turn).

  • Break the Chain: One legendary creature loses all legendary actions until the end of the round.

Regional Effects (while Uvar remains in existence)

  • Storm-Cracked Skies: Within 10 miles of Uvar’s domain, clouds always form the shape of a vast, unseen face. Thunder whispers truths to the worthy and warnings to the arrogant.

  • Lightning Test: Every creature that calls themselves king, commander, or godlike within 5 miles of Uvar’s lair is marked with a sigil of challenge. They must succeed on a DC 20 Wisdom save or suffer nightmares of being judged by the storm until they face him—or renounce their claim.

  • Voice of the Allfather: Once per day, any mortal who speaks an oath or judgment within 1 mile of the lair will see their word made law (functions as geas, no components).
