Traits

Amorphous. The Boiled Crawfish Ooze can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing.

Amphibious. The ooze can breathe air and water.

Spicy Aura (Boiling Brine). At the start of each of the ooze’s turns, each creature within 5 feet of it must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or take 5 (1d10) fire damage and 1d6 poison damage as scalding, seasoned fluid sizzles from its body. Creatures that fail this save also have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks until the start of their next turn due to burning eyes and nose.

Crawfish Bits. Whenever the ooze is hit with a melee weapon attack, roll a d6. On a 5–6, a Tiny Boiled Crawfish Minion (use Crawfish stats with 1 hp and no grapple) is ejected in a random adjacent space and acts on the ooze's initiative.

Actions

Multiattack. The ooze makes two slam attacks.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target.Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage plus 7 (2d6) fire damage. If the target is Medium or smaller, it must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone and partially engulfed (grappled, escape DC 13). While engulfed, it takes 1d8 fire damage at the start of each of its turns.

Scalding Spray (Recharge 5–6). The ooze releases a 30-foot cone of boiling spicy liquid. Each creature in the area must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking 22 (5d8) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success. Creatures that fail are also blinded until the end of their next turn.

Description

A Boiled Crawfish Ooze is a grotesque mass of spice-steamed slime, claws, and antennae, formed when arcane magic mixes with the primal hunger of the swamp. Some say it was born when a wizard tried to impress a local with magically infused gumbo... and it ate the entire village instead.

It slithers and sloshes across bayou ruins, drawn to warmth, spellcasting, and anyone who dares boil crawfish without respect.
