Traits

Devouring Aura. At the end of each of the voracalith's turns, each creature of the voracalith's choice in a 5-foot Emanation originating from the voracalith takes 10 (3d6) Necrotic damage unless the voracalith has the Incapacitated condition. Voracaliths have Immunity from damage from another voracalith's aura.

Actions

Multiattack. The voracalith makes three Tentacle Grasp attacks and one Bite attack. It can replace its Bite attack with a use of Acid Spit if available.

Tentacle Grasp. Melee Attack Roll: +12, reach 15 ft. Hit: 14 (2d6 + 7) Bludgeoning damage, and the target is pulled 10 feet toward the voracalith and Grappled (escape DC 20). The voracalith can have three creatures Grappled at a time.

Bite. Melee Attack Roll: +12, reach 10 ft. Hit: 33 (4d12 + 7) Piercing damage.

Acid Spit (Recharge 5-6). Constitution Saving Throw: DC 22, each creature in a 15-ft. Cone. Failure: 13 (3d8) Acid damage, and the target takes an additional 13 (3d8) Acid damage at the start of each of its turns for one minute. The target can repeat this saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending this effect on a success. Immersion in water also removes this effect. Success: The target takes half of the initial damage only.

Bonus Actions

Repulsive Mind. When the voracalith reduces a creature to 0 Hit Points or Critically Hits with an attack roll, the voracalith emits a wave of hateful energy. Wisdom Saving Throw: DC 18, each creature in a 10-ft. Emanation from the voracalith. Failure: The target is pushed 10 feet away from the voracalith and is Dazed until the end of its next turn. A Dazed creature can only do one of the following things on its turn: move, use an Action, or use a Bonus Action.

Description

The emaciated, ravenous voracaliths are the definition of a loose ballista, in that they are some of the demons of lowest intellect in the Abyss. Demon lords that wish to utilize their brutal appetites often just lure them toward foes with raw meat and let them attack recklessly. Incapable of further strategization, a voracalith has a single-minded purpose to consume, for which it uses its strong tentacles to yank prey into its perpetually open mouth. Stone, wood, and even metal are no obstacle, and the demon will simply eat all of these regardless of the nutritional value, only turning from a meal when a better or bigger meal presents itself.

Habitat: Planar (Abyss)
