Traits

Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the Wayward Passenger fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Anchored Presence. The Wayward Passenger is immune to effects that would forcibly banish it to different planes and realities.

Dimensional Slice. The Wayward Passenger's melee weapon attacks deal an additional 1d8 force damage (already included in the actions section).

Dimensional Escape. At the start of the second round of combat, the Wayward Passenger can cut open holes into a pocket dimension and hide in there for two rounds. While in this dimension, it attacks from a series of portals that it created in an attempt to distract and redirect its enemies using legendary actions. Creatures can attempt to follow the Wayward Passenger into the pocket dimension and forcibly extract it with the creature's active Wisdom (Perception) against the Wayward Passenger's Dexterity (Stealth) check. After exiting the pocket dimension, the Wayward Passenger could not enter it again for one round.

Rip Space. Whenever the Wayward Passenger uses Dimensional Escape, it creates four portals within 30 feet of its original position. Whenever it attacks through these portals, it creates another portal within 30 feet of where it attacked. It gains the following bonuses for a certain number of portals active:

  • 6: Slice deals an extra 1d8 force damage.
  • 10: The Wayward Passenger gains expertise in Dexterity (Stealth) checks.
  • 16: The Wayward Passenger gains AC equal to its proficiency modifier (4).
  • 24: Slice deals another 1d8 force damage (+2d8 total) and gains advantage on melee weapon attacks.

These portals remain active for an hour or until the Wayward Passenger either dismisses them (no action required) or dies.

Regeneration. At the start of its turns, the Wayward Passenger gains 20 hit points unless incapacitated.

Actions

Multiattack. The Wayward Passenger makes two Slice attacks and one Vomit Discharge.

Slice. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d8 + 5 slashing damage and 1d8 force damage. If the Wayward Passenger is attacking through a portal, gain 20 feet of reach.

Vomit Discharge. The Wayward Passenger vomits caustic materials in front of it. Creatures within a 30-foot cone must make a DC 17 Constitution saving throw or take 3d6 acid damage on a failure, or half as much on a success.

Bonus Actions

Erratic Movement. The Wayward Passenger can either Dash, Disengage, or Hide as a bonus action.

Reactions

Parrying Slice. As a reaction upon being targeted by an attack, the Wayward Passenger may roll a Slice attack. If the Slice attack rolls a higher total than the incoming attack, the incoming attack is cancelled and if the attacker is within reach, the attacker takes half the damage roll of Slice.

Legendary Actions

The Wayward Passenger can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The Wayward Passenger regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Cut. The Wayward Passenger makes one Slice attack.

Dive. The Wayward Passenger moves up to its movement speed.

Dimension Shredder (3 Actions). The Wayward Passenger makes two Slice attacks against creatures of its choosing within 40 feet.
