Dancer’s Grace.
Ranged attacks against Abby have disadvantage while he is moving.
Performance Aura.
Creatures within 30 ft. of Abby that can see him must succeed on a DC 24 Wisdom saving throw at the start of their turn or be distracted by his movements, suffering disadvantage on attack rolls until the start of their next turn.
Legendary Resistance (3/Day).
If Abby fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.
Multiattack.
Abby makes four Shadow Blade attacks.
Shadow Blade (Melee Weapon Attack).
+18 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 32 (4d8 + 10) slashing plus 21 (6d6) necrotic.
Piercing Waltz (Recharge 5–6).
Abby dashes up to 60 ft., moving through enemies. Any creature whose space he enters must make a DC 24 Dexterity saving throw, taking 54 (12d8) slashing damage and 27 (6d8) necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success.
Encore of Shadows (1/day).
Abby summons a dozen shadowy duplicates that mimic his dance. Each enemy within 60 ft. must make a DC 24 Wisdom saving throw or be blinded until the end of their next turn and take 45 (10d8) psychic damage.
Abby can take 3 legendary actions, one at a time, at the end of another creature’s turn.
-
Shadow Blade. Abby makes one Shadow Blade attack.
-
Dance Step. Abby teleports up to 30 ft. without provoking opportunity attacks.
-
Whirl of Darkness (Costs 2 Actions). Abby spins in place, forcing all creatures within 10 ft. to make a DC 24 Dexterity saving throw or take 22 (5d8) slashing damage and be pushed 15 ft. away.
Final Act (Recharges after a Long Rest)
When Abby drops to 0 hit points, he instead regains 260 hit points. His form splits into multiple overlapping shadow clones. For the rest of the fight, every time Abby takes the Attack action, one additional attack automatically hits a random enemy within 10 ft.
Description
Lore: Abby, the Shadow Dancer
Among the feared Saja Boys, Abby is remembered not just as a demon slayer, but as the one who danced with death itself. Where Jinu embodies raw fury and soul-rending power, Abby represents the art of control — weaving elegance, chaos, and lethality into every movement.
Origins
Abby’s life began in the twilight between mortal and fiendish realms. Legends say he was once a prodigy performer in the Beastlands, a human whose every step seemed to conjure shadow. His fame spread quickly, his audience drawn to his otherworldly charisma and razor-sharp movements. Yet fame carried a curse — his shadow grew restless, no longer content to mimic him. It reached out, seized his body, and split his soul in two.
From that day, Abby ceased to be mortal. His new form was both himself and his shadow, a dual existence sustained by a pact with the void-born fiends who saw his potential. They named him the Shadow Dancer, and he was reborn among the Saja Boys, each destined to strike fear into the hearts of demons.
Personality
Abby is flamboyant and unpredictable. Unlike Jinu’s stoic menace, Abby taunts his foes, mocking them mid-battle with playful laughter and theatrical spins. His pink hair glows unnaturally under any light, a reminder that he is never quite in sync with the mortal world. Though he carries an air of mischief, beneath his charming exterior lies a killer whose every strike is calculated to both terrify and mesmerize.
Powers and Abilities
-
Dance of Shadows. Abby’s body is a blur of grace and death. He can teleport short distances in rhythm with his movements, making him untouchable as he slashes through enemies.
-
The Audience’s Gaze. His performances captivate all who watch. Even in the midst of slaughter, Abby enthralls with a hypnotic aura that disorients and charms.
-
Encore of Darkness. When pushed to his limits, Abby fractures into countless shadow-doubles, each as fast and lethal as the original. This mythic “final act” turns the battlefield into a stage of horror and awe.
Role Among the Saja Boys
Where Jinu is the frontline terror, Abby is the unpredictable assassin. He specializes in dismantling enemy ranks with speed and deception, striking where defenses are weakest. His shadow clones can overwhelm even the strongest of fiends, while his charisma unbalances foes who hesitate before his radiant presence.
Despite his chaotic neutrality, Abby is deeply loyal to the Saja Boys. He claims they are his “truest audience,” and without them, his dance would lose meaning. Among mortals, however, stories differ — some say he saves entire villages by slaying demons, while others claim he toys with humans as if they were props in his performance.
Legends and Myths
-
The Crimson Waltz. A tale says Abby once faced a legion of shadow demons under a blood moon. He danced for three days and nights without rest, his pink hair glowing brighter than the moonlight, until only silence remained.
-
The Betrayed Audience. Rumors whisper that Abby betrayed a king who tried to cage him as a court jester, slaughtering the royal family in the midst of a performance. Since then, many rulers fear inviting “performers with pink hair.”
-
The Eternal Stage. Demonkind believes Abby is cursed — wherever he goes, the shadows create a stage for him, ensuring that his life will always be a performance. He laughs at this idea, claiming: “What is life but one long encore?”
Lair and Lair Actions
At initiative count 20 (losing ties), Abby can use a lair action:
-
Shadow Flood. The area becomes heavily obscured in magical darkness until the next round.
-
Stage Spin. All terrain within 30 ft. shifts as if the battlefield itself is rotating; creatures must make a DC 20 Dex save or be knocked prone.
-
Audience’s Roar. Echoes of demonic applause bolster Abby, restoring 30 hit points.
