Description

The Voltshade Thornfiend is an unstable, electrified creature composed of flickering plant matter and crackling static. It moves erratically, supported by unseen tendrils of energy, and exudes a dangerous aura of chaos and destruction.

Lair and Lair Actions

On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the Voltshade Thornfiend can take a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the Thornfiend can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:

- Animate nearby plants to attack, dealing 2d6 piercing damage to creatures in the area.
- Cause an electrical storm that deals 3d8 lightning damage to all creatures in the lair.
- Create a field of static that causes creatures to become deafened for 1 minute unless they succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw.
