Traits

Eyeless Predator. Null Demons do not see — they sense life force. Stealth against them requires a Charisma (Deception) check rather than Dexterity (Stealth).

Void Shriek (Recharge 5–6). Once per round, as an action, the Null Demon lets out a piercing scream. All creatures in a 60 ft. cone must succeed on a DC 19 Constitution save or take 55 (10d10) psychic damage and be deafened for 1 minute. On a fail by 5 or more, they are also stunned until the end of their next turn.

Pack Terror. While two or more Null Demons are within 30 ft. of each other, they gain advantage on attack rolls and saving throws.

Soul Eclipse. When a creature within 30 ft. dies, the Null Demon may use its reaction to absorb their essence, regaining 20 hit points.

Actions

Multiattack. The Null Demon makes two Claw attacks and one Bite.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 22 (4d8+6) slashing damage + 13 (3d8) necrotic.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 27 (5d8+6) piercing damage. The target must succeed a DC 19 Constitution save or have disadvantage on saving throws until the end of its next turn.

Wing Rend (Recharge 4–6). The Null Demon beats its wings violently. All creatures within 20 ft. must succeed on a DC 19 Strength save or take 36 (8d8) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone.

Legendary Actions

The Null Demon can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. The Null Demon regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Void Step. The Null Demon moves up to half its flying speed without provoking opportunity attacks, vanishing in a blur of shadow.

Claw Rend. The Null Demon makes one Claw attack against a creature within range. If the attack hits, the target must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or begin bleeding void ichor, taking 9 (2d8) necrotic damage at the start of its turn until it receives magical healing or succeeds on a DC 18 Medicine check.

Silent Shriek (Costs 2 Actions). The Null Demon emits a burst of soundless pressure. All creatures within 20 feet must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or take 22 (4d10) psychic damage and be deafened until the end of their next turn. On a failure by 5 or more, they are also stunned.

Soul Snatch (Costs 3 Actions). The Null Demon targets one creature within 30 feet that is frightened or restrained. The target must succeed on a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw or have its soul partially pulled from its body. On a failed save, the creature takes 27 (6d8) necrotic damage and suffers disadvantage on attack rolls and saving throws until the end of its next turn. If this reduces the creature to 0 hit points, its soul is devoured and it cannot be resurrected short of a wish.
