Description

Anabelle Blair: The Righteous Daughter of a Blessed Empire

Anabelle's earliest memories are of the sun-scorched earth of Cynder, a continent consumed by the brutal civil war between the Radiant Sun and the Shimmering Dusk. Born a Shifter, she was raised in servitude, a piece of property belonging to a formidable Leonen named Goliath. As a slave, her existence was a bleak tapestry of obedience and fear. Goliath, a figure of imposing strength and a subtle intellect, saw in her not a person, but a tool, a mere part of the Radiant Sun's vast, oppressive structure. Though her basic needs were met, her spirit was not, and her existence was defined by the oppressive glare of a society built on dominance.

Everything changed when a divine storm descended upon Cynder. A woman of staggering celestial power, Cassandra Blair, came to the continent and, in a breathtaking display of divine might, unleashed the legendary 10 Plagues upon the Radiant Sun. The land was scourged, the people were afflicted, and the great war machine of the Radiant Sun crumbled into dust. The Shimmering Dusk, wise enough to see the futility of resistance against such power, surrendered immediately and were spared the full devastation. In the midst of the chaos, Anabelle witnessed Cassandra’s final confrontation with Goliath. As a partial Storyteller, Goliath was a figure of significant power, but even his authority and his reality anchor were shattered by Cassandra, who, by the end of their battle, had become a Storyteller herself. She ended his life, an act that freed Anabelle in a way she never thought possible.

With the civil war over and the Radiant Sun in ruins, Cassandra Blair adopted the young shifter, giving her a new name and her own last name: Anabelle Blair. Leaving the scarred lands of Cynder behind, Cassandra brought Anabelle to the nascent Angelic Empire in the Arctic of the Dead Lands. The journey marked the beginning of Anabelle's true life.

In the Angelic Empire, she was no longer a slave but a daughter, loved and nurtured. After Cassandra performed a heroic sacrifice in her battle against the vile King of Worms, Mannimarco, Anabelle was entrusted to a new mother figure: Emily. Emily, a being of pure compassion and boundless light, raised Anabelle in the heart of the Angelic Empire. For 10 years, Anabelle was steeped in a world unlike anything she had ever known. The very air was clean and pure, imbued with divine energy, and the water flowed as liquid holy water. She grew up with living angel statues as city guards, played with Hallowed Sphinxes, and watched Shepherd Angels patrol the skies. She learned to appreciate the unique culinary fusion of the Empire's people, from the hearty stews of the Glimmering Stars to the delicate dishes of the Sheltered Ones, all nourished by the continent's blessed abundance.

Under Emily's guidance, Anabelle’s natural connection to life and purity was cultivated. She was taught not just the tenets of YHWH, but the profound responsibility that came with divine power. She learned to harness the blessings of the land, understanding that her own Shifter nature, once seen as a mark of a beast, was a gift to be refined and sanctified. This nurturing environment instilled within her the Divine Ancestry she now possesses, a deep-seated resistance to evil and a radiant grace that allows her to sprout Luminous Wings in times of need.

Now, at 18 years old, Anabelle serves as a Righteous Rank cleric, a testament to her capabilities and her unwavering commitment to the Empire's ideals. She travels the vast and blessed Arctic, a beacon of hope and a living miracle. She is a powerful Life Domain cleric, using her incredible abilities to heal the sick, mend the broken, and perform feats of divine intervention. Her past as a slave gives her an empathy for the suffering, and her upbringing in the Angelic Empire has given her the power and the purpose to alleviate it. She is Anabelle Blair, a former slave who found freedom, a lost child who found a family, and a divine warrior who found her purpose as a righteous daughter of the Angelic Empire.

Anabelle's Domain Expansion

Anabelle possesses a portable domain she can manifest at will, which she calls the Aura of Sanctification. She can activate or deactivate this domain as an action.

Aura of Sanctification

  • Anabelle's Aura of Sanctification is a 60-foot-radius sphere centered on her. While this aura is active, the following effects occur:

  • Divine Radiance. All allies within the aura (including Anabelle) are enveloped in a soft, holy light. They have advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects.

  • Sanctified Ground. The ground within the aura becomes difficult terrain for any hostile creature. Additionally, any hostile creature that starts its turn in the aura takes 10 (3d6) radiant damage.

  • Restorative Touch. Any creature that starts its turn within the aura (including Anabelle) regains 10 hit points. This healing is not a spell and is not affected by Anabelle's Disciple of Life or Supreme Healing features.
