Traits

Damage Threshold. If an attack against the Wasp Ship does less than 15 cumulative damage, all damage from that attack is ignored.

Crew Members. The Wasp Ship has a total of 5 crew members. 1 crew member serves as the pilot, 3 man the weapons, and 1 serves as a backup. If the Wasp Ship has fewer then 3 crew members, then it cannot fire its weapon in one turn. See actions for details.

Free of Will. Any spells or magical effects that require a Intelligence, Charisma, or Wisdom saving throw have no effect against the Wasp Ship. Though they may affect the crew members.

Piloting. The Wasp Ship's Initiative, Dexterity Saving Throws, Passive Perception, and Perception Checks are made using the pilot's stats. If the pilot station in unmanned or the pilot is unable to make the check or save, then the Wasp Ship automatically fails those checks or saves.

Actions

Ballista (3 Crew Members). Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, range 120/480 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (3d10) piercing damage. It takes 1 crew member to load a ballista, 1 crew member to aim it, and 1 crew member to fire it. If the Ballista is targeted by an attack, it has an armor class of 15 and 50 hit points. If an attack goes through and exceeds the damage threshold, then both the Ballista and one of the crew members manning it will take the damage.

Description

Wasp ships are lightweight wooden vessels capable of landing safely on the ground, but not on water. They appeal to adventurers because they’re affordable and don’t require a large crew. Pirates like them because they’re swift. Aristocrats are fond of using them as flying yachts because the ship’s cargo hold can be easily converted into posh living quarters.

The ship’s raised back provides high ground for a weapon emplacement, which is typically equipped with a ballista.

(This stat block is based off of the one in the Spelljammer: Adventures in Space book. I find it easier in combat to have an actual stat block for the ships. I hope others find this useful!)
