Traits

Aura of Pyres (120 ft.). Any creature that starts its turn within 120 ft. of Ild takes 21 (6d6) fire damage unless immune. Allies of Ild within the aura deal an extra 7 (2d6) fire damage on weapon attacks.

Lord of the Forge. Fire and heat never harm Ild or his creations. Any weapon or armor he touches becomes a divine artifact until removed from his grasp.

Flame of Judgment. When a creature within 60 ft. attacks Ild or resists his command, it must succeed on a DC 25 Wisdom save or be marked by divine fire. The mark lasts 1 minute, and all fire damage against that creature ignores resistance and immunity.

Eternal Pyre. Ild regains 50 hit points at the start of each turn unless he took cold or necrotic damage since his last turn.

Legendary Resistance (5/Day). If Ild fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.

Magic Resistance. Ild has advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects.

Actions

Multiattack. Ild makes three attacks with his Judgment Brand or Flameblast.

Judgment Brand (Greatsword). Melee Weapon Attack: +18 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 40 (6d8+10) slashing damage plus 28 (8d6) fire damage.

Flameblast (Recharge 5–6). Ild exhales a cone of divine fire in a 120-ft. area. Each creature must make a DC 26 Dexterity saving throw, taking 91 (26d6) fire and radiant damage on a failed save, or half on success. Creatures killed by this are instantly reduced to ash.

Forge Rebirth (1/Day). Ild selects up to three dead Fire Giants or creatures of his faith within 60 ft. Their ashes reform into fiery revenants (use Fire Giant Dreadnought stats with max HP) that serve him for 1 hour.

Legendary Actions

Ild can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below:

  1. Flame Step. Ild teleports up to 60 ft. in a burst of fire. Each creature he leaves behind takes 21 (6d6) fire damage.

  2. Unholy Smite. Ild makes a weapon attack that deals an additional 21 (6d6) radiant damage.

  3. Infernal Command (Costs 2). All Fire Giants or fire elementals within 120 ft. may immediately make one attack or cast Fireball centered on any target Ild chooses.

Mythic Actions

Mythic Trait — The Inferno Crown

When Ild is reduced to 0 HP, his molten armor cracks apart, revealing his true divine form: a living inferno in humanoid shape, crowned by a halo of pure solar flame. He regains 400 HP, his attacks gain an additional 20 (6d6) radiant damage, and his speed becomes 100 ft.

Mythic Actions (while in divine form):

  • Sunflare (Costs 3). A blinding burst of fire explodes from Ild. Each creature of his choice within 120 ft. must make a DC 26 Con save or take 70 (20d6) fire and radiant damage and be blinded for 1 minute.

  • Forge the World. Once per day, Ild slams his sword into the ground, reshaping a 300-ft. radius area into molten terrain. Structures melt, and enemies sink as magma floods the battlefield.

Description

Lore

When the first stars were lit, their embers fell into the newborn Elemental Plane of Fire — and from the brightest of them rose Ild, the Burning Law. Unlike the chaotic spirits of flame that danced without purpose, Ild was discipline incarnate, forging order from chaos.

He became the God of Fire and Pyres, patron of Fire Giants and ruler of the Crimson Crucible, a burning citadel floating above an endless ocean of magma. Ild teaches that flame is not merely destruction — it is judgment, the great purifier that consumes weakness, leaving only strength and perfection.

Fire Giants worship Ild as their divine king and forgemaster. They believe he forged their souls in his furnace and that when they die, their ashes return to his pyres to be reforged anew.

But Ild’s perfection is tyranny — those who defy him are burned to ash. His legions march across the Elemental Plane of Fire, spreading “divine order” through incineration.

Appearance

  • Ild is a Gargantuan Fire Giant god, his form encased in crimson armor forged from living flame and obsidian, carved with divine runes that burn brighter than the sun.

  • His eyes are twin furnaces, and his hair flows like molten metal.

  • His weapon, the Judgment Brand, is a colossal greatsword of flame and gold that roars with divine fire.

  • Wherever he walks, the ground melts into rivers of lava, and his voice echoes like a forge hammer striking an anvil.

  • His halo — the Inferno Crown — burns above his head, casting his shadow like a god of apocalypse and order.
