Traits

Legendary Resistance (3/Day, or 4/Day in Lair). If Vlad fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.

Shadow Escape. If Vlad drops to 0 Hit Points outside his resting place, he teleports into his resting place unless he is in sunlight. If he can’t teleport, he is destroyed. Once inside his resting place, he has the Paralyzed condition for 1 hour, after which he regains 1 Hit Point.

Soul Collector. If a humanoid dies within 120ft of Vlad, it's soul becomes trapped within his Crimson Moonblade. While it's soul is trapped, it can be revived only by a True Resurrection or a Wish spell.

Spider Climb. Vlad can climb difficult surfaces, including along ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

Sunlight. Vlad takes 20 Radiant damage if he starts his turn in sunlight. While in sunlight, he has Disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks.

Actions

Multiattack. Vlad makes two attacks, using Crimson Moonblade or Sanguine Bolt in any combination.

Crimson Moonblade. Melee or Ranged Attack Roll: +12, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft. Hit: 12 (1d10 + 7) Slashing damage plus 10 (3d6) Necrotic damage. 

Sanguine Bolt. Ranged Attack Roll: +10, range 120 ft. Hit: 16 (2d10 + 5) Necrotic damage, and the target has the Poisoned condition until the start of Vlad's next turn.

Cloudkill (Recharge 5–6). Vlad casts Cloudkill, requiring no spell components and using Charisma as the spellcasting ability (spell save DC 18).

Bonus Actions

Sanguine Drain. Constitution Saving Throw: DC 18, one creature Vlad can see within 30 feet that isn’t a Construct or an Undead. Failure: 14 (4d6) Necrotic damage. The target’s Hit Point maximum decreases by an amount equal to the damage taken, and Vlad regains Hit Points equal to that amount.

Legendary Actions

Legendary Action Uses: 3 (4 in Lair). Immediately after another creature’s turn, Vlad can expend a use to take one of the following actions. Vlad regains all expended uses at the start of each of its turns.

Beguile. Vlad casts Command, requiring no spell components and using Charisma as the spellcasting ability (spell save DC 18). Vlad can’t take this action again until the start of his next turn.

Shadow Step Strike. The vampire teleports to a location he can see within 30ft, and makes one attack with his Crimson Moonblade or Sanguine Bolt.

Summon Soul. Vlad draws out one of the souls trapped within his Crimson Moonblade, summoning a Shadow within 5ft of an enemy he can see, which acts immediately. Vlad can’t take this action again until the start of his next turn.
