Front Shield Generator. The Warden projects a front-facing shield in a 90-degree arc. When attacked from the front, its AC increases to 19. Creatures attacking from other angles do not benefit from this AC.
Precision Targeting. The Warden ignores half and three-quarters cover when making ranged weapon attacks.
Marking Protocol. When the Warden hits a creature with its sniper cannon, it marks that target. The next attack made by it or another construct against the marked creature has advantage.
Multiattack. The Warden makes two Sniper Cannon attacks.
Sniper Cannon. Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, range 120/480 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (3d8) piercing damage + 7 (2d6) radiant damage.
Suppressive Pulse (Recharge 5–6). The Warden emits a burst from its cannon. Each hostile creature of its choice in a 15 ft. cone must succeed on a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or take 14 (4d6) radiant damage and be pushed 10 ft. away.
Rolling Form. As a bonus action, the Warden can fold into a rolling wheel, increasing its speed to 50 ft. and gaining advantage on Dexterity saving throws. It can unfold as a bonus action.
Deflection Shield. When targeted by a ranged attack from the front, the Warden adds +4 to its AC against that attack.
Description
Lore
The Type-R Longshot Wardens are precision snipers in the grand armies of Mechanus. Unlike their heavily armored cousins, these machines are designed for mobility and accuracy — silent predators on the battlefield.
Created in the Rotating Spire Forges of Mechanus, Longshot Wardens roll swiftly across gear plains, take up entrenched firing positions, and eliminate priority targets with unerring accuracy. Their front-facing tactical barrier shield allows them to pin down enemies from range while remaining protected, and their logic targeting cores calculate wind, distance, and movement with near-divine precision.
They often serve under Prime Wardens or Annihilation Wardens, acting as forward scouts, assassins, and suppressing fire units. In coordinated Mechanus strikes, these automatons appear on elevated perches or gear ridges — striking before anyone can react.
Tactics
-
Hit-and-Roll: These units excel at moving in, firing, and repositioning to hard-to-reach locations.
-
Focus Fire: They typically mark key targets such as casters or leaders for coordinated strikes.
-
Anchor Fire: When braced behind terrain, their front shield makes them tough to dislodge without flanking.
