Description

Ardenti Demonians are large dragons capable of breathing fire and carrying huge weights. They have a lifespan of about 100 years. Juveniles have glowing orange scales but as they age their color deepens to an iridescent scarlet shade with black tipped scales. They have a lifespan of about 100 years. Juveniles have glowing orange scales but as they age their color deepens to an iridescent scarlet shade with black tipped scales. The dragons are also immensely strong, robust and muscular fighters who will get very attached to their owner and fight at their side for as long as they live. They can carry heavy cargo, which makes them an ideal choice for merchants and dealers of expensive wares.

Caretaking

In order to grow a healthy and strong Demonian, the owner of the egg must rest it on coals, or in a nest generously lined with phoenix feathers which preserve and accumulate heat. When caring for the dragon while it is still in the egg, it is crucial to wear glasses and gloves when inspecting and handling the egg; due to its intense heat and energy, without the proper protection of gloves, the hands of the owner may be incinerated. Only gloves made of Demonian Leather won't be incinerated. It becomes very obvious when eggs are ready to hatch as they will begin smoking, and expel great amounts of fire and heat, first only slightly, then depending on the strength of the hatchling, may increase exponentially very quickly. Within the next month the smoke will begin to bellow out profusely, filling an entire room with smoke, making it hot. It is recommended to hatch these eggs outside as when they hatch there is a risk of a house fire. Demonian dragons punch a hole with their arm through their egg when hatching, and generally expel fire as they hatch.

*Note that some races have used demonian eggs for drying and smoking jerky before winter comes, imbuing it with special warming properties as well as for the flavor.
