👼 Angelic & Death God Traits

  • Immutable Form. Immune to any spell or effect that would alter his form.

  • Immunity to Certain Attacks. All Fiends, Undead, and all non-Good-Aligned Characters cannot hit Sable Blair. Constructs and other Angels ignore this effect.

  • Aura of Truth. All lies spoken within 120 feet of Sable Blair are immediately obvious to him as falsehoods.

  • Immunity to Imprisonment. Cannot be sealed away or trapped through non-magical or magical barriers, or even imprisoned.

  • Reaper's Harvest. When Sable Blair reduces a creature (non-Construct or Undead) to 0 HP, its soul is judged, preventing all but a wish spell from restoring it to life.

  • Soul Hunter. While wielding Blackrazor, he is aware of the presence of Tiny or larger creatures within 60 feet of him that aren't constructs or undead.

  • Reaper's Form. Innate resistance to Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing damage from nonmagical attacks.

  • Divine Regeneration (Reaper). Sable Blair regains 10 hit points at the start of his turn. If he takes radiant damage, this trait doesn't function at the start of his next turn.

Description

💀 Sable Blair, the Redeemed Reaper: Lore & History 😇

Sable Blair is a testament to the Angelic Empire's conviction that no soul is beyond redemption. His existence validates the Empire's multiversal crusade of purity and order, demonstrating that even a cosmic evil can be transformed into a pillar of Lawful Good authority.

The Artifact and the Intervention (Genesis)

Sable's original form was the legendary artifact Blackrazor, a sentient, soul-devouring greatsword that was a threat to existence across the planes.

  • The Redemption: Evelyn Blair, who would become one of the Triumvirate, recognized the corrupted power within the artifact. She and her co-rulers performed a ritual of monumental scale, not to destroy Blackrazor, but to purify its essence. They scoured the necrotic malice of its millennia-long existence, leaving behind a core of immense, primordial power.

  • The Transformation: Through a wish spell and the Triumvirate's decree, this purified essence was given a body—a powerful, custom-built Warforged Juggernaut form. The being was named Sable Blair, the Empire's first adopted son and its answer to the ancient title of Death (Reaper).

  • The Assignment: Due to the chaos and moral ambiguity of the world known as the Flourishing Seas, Sable was deployed to that world and appointed its new Death God/Reaper. His duty is to enforce the Lawful Good tenets of the Empire by strictly and compassionately judging the souls within that regional multiverse, a bastion of purity in a turbulent world.

The Older Brother (Mentorship & Family)

As the first child of the Blair family, Sable's experience as a reformed being made him a unique and pivotal mentor for his younger, biological sister, Cassandra Blair.

  • The Mentor: Sable personally mentored Cassandra in the core tenets of divine law and the weight of responsibility, often traveling back to the Empire's central stronghold from his assignment. His lessons focused on the sanctity of life (and death), teaching Cassandra the difference between righteous judgment and simple wrath.

  • The Example: As a living miracle—a creature of pure death transformed into a Lawful Good construct—Sable was the ultimate living proof of the Empire’s core philosophy. His path solidified for Cassandra the potential for every soul to choose light over darkness.

  • The Bond: Despite his imposing Warforged form and the constant demands of his post in the Flourishing Seas, Sable and Cassandra share a deep, protective sibling bond.

The Reaper's Role in the Flourishing Seas

Sable's duties are continuous and absolute, tying him inextricably to the cosmic order of the Flourishing Seas.

  • Maintaining Order: His primary function is to prevent soul-related chaos. He is constantly on guard against the rise of entities that would interfere with the natural cycle of life and death, particularly those who operate outside the Empire's moral framework.

  • The Watcher: While the Angelic Empire is multiversal, the Triumvirate's primary focus occasionally requires them to act in other regions (such as the conflicts mentioned in the Dead Lands). Sable's unwavering presence in the Flourishing Seas ensures that this crucial region remains stable, preventing spiritual catastrophe from distracting the Empire's leadership.

  • Blackrazor, the Redeemed Blade, is a physical manifestation of his transformed self, now dealing massive radiant damage alongside residual necrotic energy. It is a constant symbol of his past sin and his present grace, empowering him to execute his divine duties with the ultimate authority of a Lawful Good Reaper.
