Traits

Voidsteel Armor. The Corsair’s armor is crafted from salvaged astral metal. While wearing it, the Corsair has resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.

Jetpack Burst (Recharge 5–6). As a bonus action, the Corsair activates their etheric jetpack, propelling themselves up to 30 feet in any direction without provoking opportunity attacks. They can hover until the start of their next turn.

Veteran of the Void. The Corsair has advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed, having long since faced both eldritch horrors and the loneliness of the void.

Actions

Multiattack. The Corsair makes two attacks with their cutlass or pistol.

Void Cutlass. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 2) slashing damage plus 4 (1d8) force damage.

Astral Pistol. Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, range 40/120 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d10 + 2) radiant damage.

Smoke Charge (1/day). The Corsair throws a small alchemical device at their feet, creating a 10-ft.-radius cloud of shimmering astral mist. The area is heavily obscured until the end of the Corsair’s next turn.

Description

Lore

In the boundless expanse of the Astral Sea, where thought and starlight intermingle, roam the Astral Corsairs — mercenary warriors and scavengers who live by blade, blaster, and code.

Once forged as divine soldiers for planar wars, they broke from all banners, donning enchanted voidsteel armor and forming nomadic fleets. Each ship is its own nation, its crew bound not by loyalty but by the simple creed: “Honor is the coin of fools; freedom is the treasure of the bold.”

Corsairs raid spelljamming lanes, salvage planar wrecks, and sell their strength to the highest bidder. To them, the multiverse is a sea of opportunity — dangerous, but endlessly rich.

They are neither evil nor good — only free.
