Description
A Bandit Mauler is a hulking brute of a bandit, towering a full head above even the tallest warriors, with shoulders broad enough to block a doorway and arms like knotted tree trunks forged in endless brawls. His frame is sheathed in mismatched heavy armor, a grotesque mosaic of scavenged half-plate, full plate fragments, and reinforced chainmail, all battered and riveted together with iron spikes and crude welds. Deep gouges from axes and swords mar every surface, while blackened scorch marks and fused metal patches bear witness to the fury of his enchanted weapon. Tattered cloaks or banners looted from fallen caravans trail from his back like mocking war flags, and chains of rusted manacles or looted jewelry clink from his pauldrons and belt, swaying with his ponderous stride.
His helmet is a fearsome slab of iron, often a greathelm with a jaggedly removed visor or a crude face cage of welded bars that exposes a snarling maw framed by a wild, unkempt beard matted with grime and blood. Coarse hair spills from beneath, sometimes braided with pilfered trinkets. His face is a roadmap of violence: craggy brows, a perpetual scowl, and eyes that gleam with predatory hunger beneath heavy brows.
In his enormous gauntleted fists, he clutches a Thundermaul. A massive enchanted chain whip of dark, storm-forged iron, its head a broad, ball lightning-like sphere wide as a shield boss, etched with glowing runes that pulse with bottled thunder. Copper-wrapped haft and spiked pommel complete the weapon, humming with ozone-scented power; each swing trails crackling arcs that singe the air and leave the scent of burnt earth.
He moves with the inexorable gait of an avalanche, voice a gravelly rumble like approaching thunder, barking demands for tribute or simply smashing first and claiming after. Surrender means stripping bare before his appraising glare, everything you carry is his by right of the storm he wields.
