Traits

Aura of Suppressed Regrowth. Creatures within 20 ft. of the Vet cannot benefit from regeneration or healing based on natural or biological recovery (e.g., regenerate, goodberry, or troll regeneration).  The aura also halts natural hair growth for 24 hours after exposure.  Targets with fur or scales feel an uncomfortable “tingling smoothness.”

Smooth Zealotry. When an ally within 30 ft. hits with a melee attack, the Vet can use its reaction to shout “By the Blade!” granting that ally +1d4 radiant damage on the hit.

Blessing of Ton’dur (Recharge 5–6). As a bonus action, the Vet calls upon divine vanity. For 1 minute, their skin glows faintly, shedding dim light in a 10 ft. radius. During this time, melee attacks deal an extra 1d6 radiant damage, and any creature hit must succeed on a DC 15 Charisma save or be frightened until the end of its next turn (terrified by the Vet’s immaculate sheen).

Actions

Multiattack.  The Vet makes two attacks: one with their Holy Straight Razor and one with Pomade Bomb.

Holy Straight Razor. Melee Weapon Attack Roll: +5, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d6 + 2) Slashing damage + 4 (1d8) Radiant damage .  If the target has visible hair or fur, it must make a DC 13 Con save or lose 1 AC until the end of its next turn (stung by divine exfoliation).

Pomade Bomb (Recharge 4–6). Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, range 20/60 ft., one target.  Hit: 6 (2d4 + 1) acid damage. The target must succeed on a DC 14 Dex save or be slippery and slick—granting advantage on melee attacks against them until the end of the Vet’s next turn.

Command of the Smooth (1/day). The Vet calls out to Ton’dur, demanding submission to the Clean Path. All enemies within 30 ft. must make a DC 15 Wis save or be charmed for 1 minute, convinced they should “consider grooming.” While charmed, they cannot attack the Vet or their allies unless damaged.

Description

Tactics

  • Begins combat by invoking Blessing of Ton’dur to inspire cultists.
  • Uses Pomade Bomb early to disable high-armor foes.
  • Moves strategically to keep enemies inside the Aura of Suppressed Regrowth, especially against druids, trolls, or regenerating undead.
  • Retreats if reduced below 25 HP, shouting: “Smoothness cannot die—it only exfoliates!”

Sample Quips

  • “Behold your imperfections — and repent!”
“By Ton’dur’s blade, you shall be polished!”
    “Your follicles betray your sin!”

Racial Notes for Other Cult Members
Race    Modifications & Flavor
Elf    +2 DEX, +1 CHA. Their aura radius increases by 5 ft. due to their natural grace. Often revered as “Mirror Saints” among cult ranks.
Dwarf    +2 CON, –1 CHA. Dwarven Vets are rare and self-loathing; gain resistance to poison (from all the depilatory fumes).
Half-Orc    +2 STR, +1 CON. Their radiant razor attacks deal +1d4 extra damage when below half HP, fueled by self-loathing vigor.
Halfling    +2 DEX, +1 CHA. Their small stature lets them duck under attacks, granting advantage on Dex saves against area effects (“Wax dodgers”).
Human Variant    Choose one feat, typically Inspiring Leader or War Caster. These Vets are skilled at mass “conversion sermons.”
